PS3 ps3 super slim possible mosfet issue or power supply issue

okay, to get started the ps3 super slim i have is a uk cech-4203C with a PPX-001 motherboard and a ADP-160AR AA power supply,

pic is my current testing setup, first i will talk about the general issue and why i have it, when at my sisters flat her friend had a broken ps3 ss and i asked if i could take it home and try fix it, i spent the last week cleaning gunk and goo off of it and re applying thermal paste etc (there is a small amount on the cpu cos after i closed it it all just stuck to the bottom of the heat sink), now ive gotten round to actually troubleshooting it, the problem is one ive seen a million people have for a million different reasons, i press the power button, the ps3 turns on (red light to green) for three seconds or less then turns off completely (green light to black). if i press the power button again it will turn red and then if i press it again it will repeat the cycle. this from what ive heard indicates a short, ive narrowed it down to 2 possible problems, first the power supply, the 4 pin output at the top works fine (5V at 0.9A) but the 2 pin output that plugs directly into the motherboard is a bit strange. it outputs 12V but the amps increase from 0 to 5.9 (gradually) before the console turns off and then it goes back to 0. this feels like a by product of a short somewhere else im pretty sure this is just the amps charging up and not having the time to make it to 13A but that could just be flat out wrong since i am a bit dumb and often just believe in stuff because my brain feels like it. problem 2 the one im more confident about is mosfet issues

sorry the image quality sucks and my hands were shaking but all mosfets with a > pointing to them are the ones i suspect are faulty, they are all specifically TPCA 8064-h mosfets. here is a diagram of them from alltransistors.com.

i barely understand mosfets but from what i do understand the source and gate shouldnt be connected when there is no power but that is the problem i am having, when on continuity mode if i place one probe of my multimeter on 4 and another on 1-3 i get a beep even though there is no power running to the mosfets. this is something that could cause a short right? the only reason im not sure is because all 8064-h mosfets do this so im not sure if its some kind of feature of this specific model. the drain is acting normally btw. so do i have to turn on the ps3 to measure voltage on the mosfets before ill know for sure or are they 100% busted
