PS3 PS3 SUPERSLIM BOOT PROBLEM

Hi everyone,

I tried updating my PS3 Super Slim, but I'm running into some issues.

Right now:

• The console boots, then immediately shuts down
• I can still access Safe Mode
• The error code I'm getting is: 8002F281

One important thing:
This model never had a hard drive installed. It's the 12GB Super Slim version with only the internal storage.

So now I'm assuming the update got flashed onto the internal eMMC storage or something similar.

My question is:

• Do I need to install an HDD/SSD first to recover/update it properly?
• Or is the console basically bricked at this point?

Any help would be appreciated.

UPDATE:
Installing a new HDD solved it!
