Privately it already supports 4.91.
But no ETA for public release, not everything depends on me, once littlebalup's patch is available, a few tests by esc0 will also be mandatory before an update rollout.

i'm not a developer,i only have a diploma ( sorry i don't know how is called in english) in electronics but i can image is pretty hard to code and be sure that it won't brick the firmware of the consoles ( how we say in italy " tocchiamoci le palle")

anyway i wish you guys the best, you are some geniuses for us non developers and without you guys all of this whould be impossible
and don't worry... take as much time as you need, no one is rushing you guys

I have a few playstation 3 I can donate for testing one I recently updated to 4.91 and I have 3 others on route not sure which fw is on them but I'll know tomorrow night if interested just drop me a DM I would love to help support the cause

Usually you'd want people with a hardware flasher on hand to be the first to test new versions of the toolset since it might be required to unbrick the console in case of a bad flash.
Either way we need to wait for PyPS3Checker first.

hi guys! can you please help me. I have a ps3 jailbroken. i come here for updates because i dont know how to fix the problem i have on my own. The story is that my friend cdonnected my ps3 to and ethernet cable so from my wifi router to my ps3 console. He updated my ps3 do 4.91.Now i cant install multiman, when i put my usb in my console wont load the files on my ps3. I dont know if i can throw away my console or can this be fixed? Please any tip or help i would be veryyyy gratefull to anyone. Thank you soo much.

Because hen and PS3toolset are still not supporting the 4.91 firmware and the creators said that are still in ETA.... So you will need to wait till they upload the new versions

Just wait until bgtoolset is updated to support 4.91. The update is already in testing. Bguerville will not release it to the public before it's safe and there are no risks of bricks.
For the time being, disable automatic updates in the system configuration so this doesn't happen again.
 
The Toolset update has already been tested successfully on NOR consoles.
More tests are needed on NAND still, esc0 will probably do that tonight after work.. but remember he also does all the HEN release testing at the same time so that's a fair amount of work altogether and one must be thorough, even then sometimes bugs creep up along anyway.
I know many of you are eagerly waiting, please, a bit more patience, we try to do our best with the time resources we have.

Is there any kind of hardware flasher that works on NAND that's still being sold? I can offer a CECHA00 for testing but I need a way to unbrick it if anything goes wrong.

If it wasn't for all the hard work you guys put in, we'd have no jailbreak. That said, my short time in this forum I've learned that people need to settle down and just wait. It'll get done when it's done

I don't know tbh, I have not looked for ages. esc0 has both E3 and Teensy so we have had what we needed for the testing we do ourselves the past few years.

Not sure whether you could find a progskeet nowadays.
Finding the right Teensy has become somewhat of a challenge also I hear..
Official discontinued.
I dunno if you can still get some from China.

Unless you find someone who might be ready to sell you his/her board, there should be someone with an unused board in this forum I would assume..

Progskeet are rare to find today. Specialy the first versions. The latest versions never worked well on PS3.
Chinese teensy may work... or not.

There are some other alernatives today like Xgpro products (TL8266II plus, XGecu) or cheaper Embedded Computers products (FlashcatUSB XPORT).
But I never tried myself and those will require to make an adapter board.

There are few talk about using raspberry or arduino boards but nothing strong.
