PS3 PS3 Toolset is back (4.90)

I've repaired/modded/softmodded many consoles in the past few years and just wanted to pop on here to say. Wow, this team has done some hella good work. One of, if not the one, easiest softmods I've come across.
 
NAND testing was completed successfully last night.
And because we try very hard to be thorough, esc0 has also undertaken tests on all supported official firmware versions from 4.75 to 4.91.
Tonight he should complete a few tests on cfw for a couple of extra fixes I added at the last minute, including a fix for proper detection & screen display of the custom syscalls type.
In theory, the update should be ready to roll out once he confirms having found no issues. If all goes well, the v1.2.007 release will be rolled out immediately after.

Bear in mind that esc0 has also been making and testing all the hen release files, for all supported fw versions. That takes a lot of time too.
And finally there's now a server issue, popping up at the last minute, that needs solved on ps3xploit.me.. typical.. [emoji23]
 
I've always wanted to jailbreak a ps3 when I was a kid and never had a ps3 and a computer at the same time but as an adult I have both and can finally jb my ps3. Now there is this update shit going on and it sucks ass but honestly will make it that much better when it roles out so thank you for all your hard work

how is going with the update on ps3toolset?
 
I was so dumb and I updated my slim ps3 to 4.91 from 4.89 (never jb).
Now patiently waiting for the tool set being updated so I can jb it.

This is a tool that let patch the PS3 flash memory to enable installation of CFW if the model of your PS3 console allows it.

It currently supports from firmware version 4.75 to 4.90. Support for 4.91 is currently being tested and it's expected to be released soon.

If your console is currently on OFW 4.91 or HFW 4.91, you have to wait until this tool is updated to patch your PS3 then install CFW Evilnat 4.91 if your PS3 console is CFW compatible.

If your console is currently on OFW 4.90 or HFW 4.90 or on lower version not previous to 4.75, and your PS3 console is CFW compatible, you can patch your console directly from HFW or OFW. Then install CFW Evilnat 4.90 or latest CFW Evilnat 4.91.

If your model supports CFW then yes. When bgtoolset is ready you can flash OFW to remove HEN then use bgtoolset to install CFW.
That said - it's probably not necesaary. If you're already on an older CFW you can just install Evilnat 4.91 without additional hacks. If you're on OFW 4.90 or below you can use bgtoolset as it is. If you've already updated to OFW 4.91 then indeed HEN can be a temporary solution until bgtoolset is updated - but that's expected to happen within a few days so I'm not sure if it's woth it.
