Regarding compatibility checks, I recommend you use bgtoolset if you can, it's always accurate, whereas minverchck will give you a wrong value if ever idps was spoofed by a previous owner.
Otherwise a flash dump analysis could also give a 100% accurate check.

Hello,( I repost this question as it seems I asked in wrong topic - to be good guest I removed old one from wrong place )
My console model is CECHH04.
It seems I did something wrong, but it not work as earlier for me. All was on same console(CECHH04):
I had 4.90 long ago, used BGToolset for CFW. And all worked perfect.
After the update to 4.91 it ask me update from internet, I agreed, it reboot to the save menu and then ask the firmware - like it not uploaded. I downloaded 4.91 from offsite - updated. Multiman not work(and it understandable because I was on OFW).
Today I open browser, run to bgtoolset page(I have this in bookmark already) - and it loaded but no beep, no any sacral info. Only "The page connot be dispalyed 80710028" in Logs page.
I redownloa OFW and update again - no change.
I format HDD - no change.
I swap for new HDD - no change.
I understand I miss something -but it is first time when I reapply bgtools set for same console so I have no idea what I can do.
Could someone please help?

The bgtoolset url was changed about a year ago. The new url is ps3toolset.com

Hi, there, thanks for your great work.

I'm getting an error when updating the FW following the modification of the flash with the ps3toolSet. Error 8002F957 shows when attempting to update firmware from OFW4.91 to CFW4.91 (CEX) from evilnat, maybe you could provide some advice at this point.

Are you sure you applied the patch after loading it in the Toolset?
It's a 2 step procedure.

Why would you want to go back from CFW to OFW? Maybe you meant the other way around?

He said "attempting to update firmware from OFW4.91 to CFW4.91 (CEX)" not like you said.

@sanson1515 Error 0x8002F957 = Error with installing Firmware update. The data is corrupted (firmware in flash does not allow the MFW installation as it does not contain the needed patches)

Please follow the steps in this video (from minute 26:20 are the steps about using ps3toolset)

I guess that I've passed through it too fast. I've tried again and now works as it should.

I'm sorry to bother but i got a old ps3 slim model i had collecting dust in my closet, i use a different ps3 because this slim does not read ps3 discs, but i was wondering in i could jailbreak it and so i was following the video instructions on youtube but the ps3toolset.com website is down, I've tried everything from putting in different thing from http, https, and to delete cookies, cache , and the everything the video says to make the browser faster. I saw that supposably it has been fixed, but i saw on the youtube comment section that they had the same problem. I just want to know what going on and if there is a quick solution? if not i just want to be let known that right now the website is down or there is some issue to make sure im not doing anything wrong. any help would be very very much apreciated. and thanks to yall that make these things come to life.

i also just updated the firmware yesterday
