PS3 [PS3 XMB MOD] Now have Individual Gameboots for each emulator / system / homebrew launched

If you have an exploited PS3 and have been following some of the progress that @DeViL303 has made with XMB modding ,then you already know about some of these great project's the xmb mod developer has been working on lately. For those of you new to his work, some recent mods from DeViL303 include Ultimate Toolbox and Pixel Art possibilities and many more from the past . Now the developer has taken on enhancing the Gameboot animation when launching content from the PS3's XMB. Having the same boring sequence for all your content simply won't cut it anymore. Now with webMAN MOD helping fuel the concept we now have the ability to set individual Gameboots per content such as bringing back those iconic start-ups from the PS1 and PS2 or having the system startups for your favorite retro roms. Well now you have that ability and more with the latest release from @DeViL303 and the latest update to webMAN MOD from @aldostools that helps power the concept the two have been working on the past several weeks seen here in the psx-place forums (here)

Here are the files for Multi Gameboot Mod . This includes all the gameboots seen in the video above, and also I animated the Atari gameboot too.

Installation is the same as usual.
    • Put the custom_render_plugin.rco on flash in dev_blind/vsh/resource/
    • Put the rest of the files inside dev_hdd0/tmp/gameboot/
    • You need the very latest webMAN installed and running. You can get that HERE.

Keep in mind this is still a work in progress and could have bugs etc, When it is a bit more polished I will add an option to install these files in Ultimate Toolbox, and maybe even make a standalone installer.

The latest build of webMAN MOD now supports the Multi Gameboot Mod

    Download: https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/releases
    Or: https://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=310
    Or use the built-in updater.

    TIPS:
1- webMAN MOD's FTP now support short path aliases:
    Use ftp://192.168.xx.xx/res to mount /dev_blind & access /dev_blind/vsh/resource
Use ftp://192.168.xx.xx/tmp to go to folder /dev_hdd0/tmp

    Other aliases are: /cov, /cvr, /pkg, /xmb, /xml, /PS3ISO, /GAMES, /ROMS, /BLES80608, etc.

2- In the folder /dev_hdd0/tmp/gameboot you can add media files ***_ICON1.PAM, ***_SND0.AT3, ***_PIC0.PNG, ***_PIC1.PNG, ***_PIC2.PNG. The example provided by DeViL303 only includes ***_PIC1.PNG

*** is the 3 letter code of the emulator: rom, sns, nes, gba, gby, gen, neo, mam, fba, pce, ata, cmd, ids.

    PS2
    PSP
    Retro Atari
    Retro SNES

    Additional Proof of Concepts

  • A basic explanations of the animation scripts for some of the gameboots I have done so far, this might make it easier for others to get involved if they see how simple they are once you understand them a little.

I've released 1.47.35. It should clear any doubts about the version that must be installed.
Cool, can you confirm if the full version is required for individual gameboot animations? I just recommend it for everything really but not sure if its needed in this case.

Sorry maybe i'm doing something wrong :
When i try to launch any type of game (ps1,ps2,ps3 (psn disc or iso) i get only the White Playstation logo with no sound

Oh, you devil you!

You, sir, are freakin' awesome. Thank you so much for this. It means a lot to nostalgic individuals (such as myself). Just beautiful. Totally made my day.

Hmm, idk. strange.

I have this Multi gameboot mod added as a toggle in the latest Ultimate Toolbox I am working on, but really it should not make any difference.

All this option does is copy the files into the correct locations.

I had new unhacked superslim, installed HFW 4.87, installed HEN from official site, then copied over the multi gameboot mod files and it worked first try.

ok ill try to reinstall the lastest version full edition of webmanMod and tell you. Thanks @aldostools @DeViL303

Do ye have any other mods applied? I recommend try this without any other mods.

I guess if you have too many other files modded that the offsets in RAM can change and this could lead to the patch not being applied properly.

works well when the game or file is run via webman, I don't know if it was supposed to be that way.

Yes, this is a webMAN MOD only feature. Other backup managers do not have this feature and probably never will due to the way the XMB gets reloaded when exiting an those apps.

So it will only work with stuff that is mounted via wMM.
oh so i got it wrong, i thought the webman was necessary for it to work in all XMB, so it's working well :)
it would be good to add this information in the post so more people don't have the same problem.

Maybe someday this could be added to Cobra so this feature is available to all backup managers and official apps and discs too.

Ideally Cobra would detect the disc type in the drive/mounted, or param.sfo category and use the correct animation for it. I think this is possible in theory, but whether Cobra devs want to waste time with visual stuff like this is another story.

I just need ps1 ps2
step copy 3 file to ps3 hdd
.sprx need add to boot plugin list?

game_ext_plugin.sprx,ps2_boot_stereo.ac3,ps1_boot_stereo.ac3

HEN will have no sound for the first game you launch after enabling HEN, this is a limitation of HEN, nothing I can do about that.

The sprx does not need to be in boot_plugins.txt, webMAN MOD handles the remap of that file if it exists. This sprx must be in the dev_hdd0/tmp/ folder for the sound to work.

I use rebug. No boot sound at every times. Weird.

Works!
Newest rebug 4.8.6
There is same file under dev_blind/vsh/module/,
Is there another issue after instead?
It should be fine. The main reason it is remapped from hdd is so it works on hen and cfw. But seems its not working on all cfw like that
