PS3HEN PS3HEN - Official Release Thread (Homebrew Enabler for the PS3) v3.5.0 (4.93 support)

We will (mainly myself and Joonie, i suppose :D) be updating PS3HEN for 4.91 in the coming days.

Just a quick catching up from earlier this year. My SSD died (power outage) in laptop I use for PS3 dev stuff. I recovered a backup from June of 2023. There was not much that was actually lost, other than some testing of the 99 package folder and a few other things i cant remember. Whatever GitHub commits I had locally were also lost.

Anyways, I am using my most recent backup and will build for 4.91 using the final 3.2.2 build as the base. I will again test the few things I was and anything else that needs added, tested, removed, changed, etc, let me know here or in a GitHub PR and it can be added for next release...I guess 3.2.3 or 3.3.0.

About the 99 package folder, you can take a look at my package manager (based on the ultimate package manager by @DeViL303), i named it as "background package location".

Also, i asked @Evilnat to see if he can patch the sprx to avoid the 99% error

That's the exact issue I was referring to. I meant to link to that same page in my last post and had forgot. Sorry.
Thanks. @aldostools has provided the fix, and I will be adding it and recompiling test bins tonight.

Right now, PS3HEN 3.3.0 is in Private Beta testing. Release should be sometime this week.

The test files may be available in Open Beta thread, not sure yet.

Hello first off I appreciate everything you do for all of us who still use a PS3 and HEN. I was wondering if you have an ETA on it being released?

4.91 Testing is almost done. We should have a release ready in the next 48 hours or so. Everything still needs tested on older firmware too.

UPDATE (3/11/24):

Gansey, the install pkg will appear under Playstation Network Content, some people can't find it the or just forget about it and it takes up space . Some even end up redownloading , and we all know that's slow .

Hi! Presuming I already have HEN enabled but want to update to a new firmware version, do I just use the upgrade HEN option through the XMB and then install the new HFW afterwards or do I need to install the HFW first and then reinstall HEN? Sorry if it's an obvious question.

To upgrade first install the new HFW, then reinstall HEN.

Note: HFW is a modified OFW with some system files from 4.82 to allow HEN installation. These old files are restored to the original version after HEN installation. So install HFW only if you plan to install HEN.

Thanks, Aldo! I was about to mess up :onthego:
