PS3 PS3xploit Resigner v1.3.0 + How to Convert PSX / PS2 / PSP for PS3Xploit HAN (v3.0)

UPDATE 2.0 RELEASED (See Below)
Ps3Xploit HAN (v3.0) has been a successful release and the team has continued the progression of the Resigning Tool. Since the release of the et"HAN"ol hack, developer habib has made several updates to the resigning tool, However some users have been having difficulty using conversion tools and finding instructions for them so here is a great tutorial by PSX-Place user's @Sakimotor which cover the conversion of PSX / PS2 / PSP for PS3Xploit HAN, various details about this release can be found in the included notes attached.

  • PS3xploit Resigner
A tool to resign ps2/ps3/psx/psp content for use with PS3Xploit v3.0-HAN 4.82 To resign RIF file you need act.dat, idps.hex and a rap file. output will be signed_act.dat and rif
PKG files are resigned when converting from debug to HAN style PKG but seperate resigning for .ENC/.EDAT/CONFIG is supported PKG resigning is supported including every PKG type i could find

    Resigning pkg files:
    • creates han style pkgs to be installed with han enabler, simply drag and drop
    • also patches pkg content to run apps which require rifs such as ps2 classics

    rifs:
    • added rifgen-master, putting act.dat and idps.hex in the folder and raps in the raps folder and running batch outputs installable pkg with custom act.dat and rifs resigned for han
    • installation should take place while on secondary user created for ps3xploit, activated with psn

    NOTES:

    • 64 bit os supported only

  • Changelogs:
    v1.2.3
    • slightly improved speed
    • raps can be dragged and dropped from another folder
    • rifgen-master added and now one click makes up a pkg with rifs
NOTE: install rif package only on secondary psn user

    v1.3.0
    • fixed bug when folder exdata not present in rifgen-master

I have few question.

1. Can i use .rap file from ps2 placeholder to sign the psx .pkg ?
2. After successfully installing ps2 pkg / psn pkg. Do i need to enable han everytime i turned on/reboot my console before i launch the game?
3. I install god of war hd psn, copy the rif and act.dat file. The game run normally. Then i install viewtiful joe ps2 and copy the rif and act.dat. After that my god of war hd game stop working. Do i need to re-copy the rif and act.dat file ?

@habib please clarify me this.... i am doubtting so if I place some rap files in the folder and use resign all I'll get only one rif file for al those raps and their corresponding pkgs right?

i installed a couple of a .pkg files (official psn games) but didnt resign them the only thing i did was install the pkg contacting the rif data. the games install and boot up fine but is there any adverse effect to doing this or do the games not need to be resigned because they're already "signed" due to being official?

They are no longer considered "signed" once you activate han
But not all edats are checks for ecdsa especially ps3 psn packages and lic.edat
Which is why I recommend signing the pkg with my tool then installing

so basically if the games i already installed work then im good but i should sign anything else going forward to avoid wasting time? thanks for the reply

thanks again. another question if you dont mind, is there a limit to how many raps you can put in a folder at once when running the resign all bat?

Npdrm pkgs require licenses such as psn packages and all ps2(including resigned custom classics)
Ps3 disc with game update convert does not need rap/rif
About homebrew running over HAN, I see we need licenses. I guess you and other devs have already tried all the possible ways to run homebrews. I read about the chance to run debug packages, but i would like askyou if HAN support fself and if you tried to use fake aka debug licenses to activate the psn pkg. Tbh I don't think that this latest way could work since the retail ps3 is always a retail console and the way to run licenses is different between cex and dex and it should depend by ......
Anyway if the only way to not use rap/rif files is a ps3 disc with game update convert, can we generate an iso or a compatible disc for retail ps3 to run a homebrew without licenses? Or isn't possible in any way for a cex ps3?
Just looking for a more simple solution to get homebrews working over HAN...

Npdrm has 2 security layers:
1.klicensee in the form of rif which also needs ecdsa
2.header/footer keys and ecdsa

Their first layer is cracked because of the improper NX DEP implementation

Any eboot will work so long it's untouched. PS2/PSX/PS3 edats and iso.bin.enc don't have that second layer since it's not an eboot so we can modify that. Ps3 psn pkg only needs first layer generation to allow execution without official license so there's that

Homebrew needs both layers cracked which requires a kernel exploit atm and MAYBE even lv1 exploit since memory protection is there
