make sure you are typing http (not https) when using the official site.

you can try the mirrors of the installers that i put at https://ps3addict.github.io/ (links at the bottom).

If i understand well, ".me" is not yet fully working due to lack on toolset, right?? Do you know when it will be fully completed?? Whats the "problem" if toolset is not able??
Am i able to educated an standard ps3 model with CFW with .me website or have i to wait tools??

Thank you.

The .me site doesn't have the capabilities to install CFW at this time. You'll have to either install HEN for the time being or wait for the toolset to come back online.

I believe the main reason for taking so long is that the tools have to point to the correct resources on the new site otherwise you'll have errors at best and brick worst case scenario. They might even be beefing up security so this doesn't happen again so wait patiently.

I know every is being done to get this sorted ASAP, I look forward to being able to use this great piece of software again - And I'm happy to donate again any time I use it.. Keep up the amazing work you do for this community..

I can understand why you are deleting links to some russian forums. They have stolen hard work of some people. And that's not ok. For me it's not security issue with russians. It's just matter of principle and I would never go there and use "their" app even if it was 100% secure.
But, I cannot understand why are deleting links to some new DNS workarounds that are pointing on the old app (for example reddit link from yesterday).
Why? Is it potential security issue?
Write note. Warn people that there is huge risk when using that workaround and that's it. Give a people choice.
Come on guys it's not matter of life and death. It's just a 70$ console.
Ok, maybe 70$ is huge to some people but I'm sure that those people wouldn't think about to go with jailbreak when they see that warning notice.

Don't get me wrong I really appreciate what have you done for this community and it's unbelievable how far you went with this jailbreaking, but in my humble opinion you are going to far with this censorship and this "100% secure - 100% reliable" policy. It's jailbreaking after all. Some risk must always be there :)

i deleted it because i do not know that it is the real site. i read were @bguerville said that the dns trick would work for a few days and that was long ago. "better safe than sorry" is my usual attitude while moderating. things can always be undeleted if they turn out to be legit.

well the russion site does work. But you have to follow instructions (be able to read russian), because it requires spe ific FW and CFW version to work, and has special instrutions. I have a friend that can read russian and did it. It worked fine, but it's not safe unless you know what you're doing or able to follow instructions. Then again I'm playing telephone, so take this with a grain of salt.

It is the real deal because the IP address shows up in a credible DNS history website.

That site "works" because the script is based on an old unofficial dump of bgtoolset.

The problem is that the script is only considering the happy path. Some exceptions are not considered and may result in a bricked console.

It is like playing Russian roulette: You're free to play it if you want, but because 5 chambers are empty doesn't mean that you can't end finding the bullet.

@aldostools summed it up well there above but seems we have to keep repeating ourselves in this thread over and over about the dangers. Has nothing to do with instructions or a magic way to use it or not, The tool itself is dangerous.
That has been the issue from the start. The dangers and issues are random and that is why there is various checks / validation and safety applied. That is why many issue can arise and as we have been seeing reports of things going wrong for some user's.

Used it to mod Three consoles so far and am having a blast, it works with low danger if you're not an idiot. Even with BGs legitimate tool there was risk of bricking a console with power loss.

Would you be okay if someone just did three test before releasing something?
So your three test become more important then the advice of the Real developer and hacker's who say otherwise and know the danger's?

Just trying to see what sense that makes? to me not much.
We do not dispute it can work, as it can but it can also brick your console WE HAVE SEEN BOTH . you are playing with fire.

People would just be better off getting a hardware flasher as they will likely need one in the end with this.

There is tons of things that you will not encounter in those three test that can be a problem.

Installing real FW when power goes out is a risk as well.
But the real and only PS3 Toolset (other unofficial is not a toolset as its incomplete with ALOT missing) will not brick your console.

Side note: Amazing how everyone who seemed to update to latest firmware are also all of a sudden experts. (just something i noticed in this thread ... If so many thinks they know more then the guys who created it, why did so many of you update? Just something i have wondered throughout this thread. Of course accidents happen and new console's are acquired but how many people want to argue its good. when its not, a majority of people arguing have been people who have updated when new firmware was released.

Or rather not use PS3HEN as a safer alternative. Many jumping on CFW may not even use a CFW exclusive feature but put a console at a risk trying to use dangerous tools. That does not seem like a great idea to gamble on something that is proven to be flawed.
