PS3 HAN PS3Xploit v3 Debug Settings Installer + Debug/XMB Swappers

Now Supports 4.84 HFW!

PS3Xploit Team has unveiled the latest progression in the form of an experimental Tool (Debug Settings Installer + Debug/XMB Swappers) for PS3Xploit v3 HAN user's (tools compatible with CFW also), with the release of REBUG REX that means a 4.82 DEX Firmware is out in the wild and that means with 4.82 DEX files, PS3 HAN user's will not have some added features and was one of the reasons why developer HABIB was suggesting user's stay on 4.81 for use of these DEX features as the status was unknown if a public 4.82 DEX would emerge, but with REBUG REX CFW release, the various files for swapping can be done, but devs will lend more details about that throughout this thread.

If you want to add DEX features you need to add DEX files. ;)
It seems that you have HAN Toolbox 0.5

Try this, it's more easy

Turn on your PS3
Enable HAN
Download DEX Files (HAN Toolbox > Advanced Tools > DEX XMB Setup > Download DEX Files (Debug), Then install the PKG)
Go to "Toggle IP/Host Info"
Next, change the "Root Path" to the last option (/dev_hdd0/game/HANTOOLBX/USRDIR/files)
Initialize the exploit then press the copy button and wait until the PS3 restart
Thx all its works

Got a rsod and cant make it find the update files in the recovery and none of the recovery options work... guessing im fucked?

yes, as mentioned by @junaid if you get a crash from bad/invalid/rejected SELF/SPRX you will be kicked to a "fake" recovery which you can exit with PS button.

always use the power button method to access recovery then try.
  1. Power Down PS3 With The Power Button
  2. Insert USB Stick Into PS3 w/OFW PUP in Correct Folder (/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP)
  3. Push and HOLD Power Button (one beep) Until PS3 Shuts Itself Off (1 single beep + another single beep)
  4. LET GO OF THE POWER BUTTON
  5. From Power Off State, Push Power Button (one beep) and HOLD until you hear a single beep, then a double beep
  6. LET GO OF THE POWER BUTTON
  7. Plug in PS3 Controller and Select System Update

and if fails, as mentioned by @pinky @DeViL303 try another drive or format that one in PC to NTFS then put into PS3 and let PS3 format it again

make sure you have OFW PUP on flash drive

also, i have replaced all mentioned + many other SPRX/SELF on superslim eMMC/NAND with absolutely 0 issues...just sayin

recovery works fine

Guys if you think you can install Homebrew apps using this "hack", then you are wrong. THIS WONT LET YOU RUN HOMEBREW APPS! IT IS MEANT FOR EXPERIMENTATION PURPOSES ONLY!

You might think it is useless but it was useful for me. I was able turn off the warning that came whenever I turned off my ps3 improperly

yeah, reactpsn would cause that message to appear after restarting the system. you can get out of it by pressing circle, but it's damn annoying. ;)

I find that warning super handy on CFW tbh and never turn it off, because if you soft brick by modifying flash, you can fix it on that screen via webMAN Mod FTP with dev_blind access, saves a lot of time reinstalling FW. ;)

afaik, you can still inject files even if the system freezes as long as you have dev_blind access..

Not in my experience, when it freezes everything freezes. Especially if its a soft brick but even if its just a browser freeze.

I don't know. I was under the impression that you could do that. I once installed a wave that was either corrupted or didn't transfer completely. it didn't freeze as I could still hear the xmb, but the screen was black. I fixed it by retransferring over the original wave. what's odd is that it should've soft bricked me.

Hi, maybe it's a stupid question, but I prefer to make sure and not risk my console, does this work on PS3 Super Slim? I appreciate your help.
