Hey everyone, recently I went nuts and bought the Samsung QVO 8TB SSD to replace my stock 1TB in my PS4 Pro. I swapped out the drives, updated with recovery firmware and everything went fine. Installed about 20 games, suffered a power outage and that's when I discovered the problem. The SSD cannot rebuild itself like the stock one. I turn it on and it says it cannot start, and to reinstall the software 9.00 or higher. I tried options 1-5 in safe mode and none of them worked, only choices left are 6 or 7. After reinstallation, I reproduced the problem by unplugging the power cable while it's on the home screen. No difference, system can't start, have to reinstall software.
I ran a check on the SSD with Samsung Magician, and everything looked fine. No bad sectors, firmware is up to date. Out of curiosity, I tested it with a different PS4 that's on 6.72. Zero difference, and it doesn't matter if it's jailbroken or not. The SSD just cannot rebuild itself, the stock mechanic drive does that just fine.
I'm at my wit's end so I got on here to see if anyone has any other suggestions or ideas to fix this annoying issue. I'd hate to have TBs of games and lose them all in a second.
