PS4 PS4 Crash Problems

I have a PS4 Pro on FW 9.00 and it froze up this evening. Now when I boot the system it checks the system storage and then states it can't start.

The next instruction is to connect the controller and press the PS button.

I've done this but connecting the controller and pressing the button does not take me any further. The controller just flashes and it stays on the same screen.

I can't seem to get to safe mode, holding the power button for 8 sec doesn't work and just turns the PS4 off after booting.

Im a little worried but have seen a few suggestions of removing the hard drive and boot into safe mode etc.

Ideally Id like to save my data but it's not looking hopeful.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated..

I've jailbroken the PS3 btw and I do hope this isn't serious as the last thing I want is a big paper weight

Thanks guys

Sounds like a failing/failed HDD to me...

Well I realised that I was using a non ps4 cable and now I can progress. We'll see what happens but it looks like the recovery update is needed, so it looks like I'll have to install everything again

I'll see how the update goes hopefully I'm out of the woods. Hard drive should be fine as it's new

cheers for the feedback

Sounds like a failing/failed HDD to me...

Just wondered if you or anyone has any thoughts on the following.

I ended up having to do a recovery update on my PS4 and so the profile I had was wiped but it wasn't used very much and was very new. I had extended storage setup and all internal and external games were in folders on the PS4 menu.

The extended storage is recognised but required a scan before hand by the PS4 because it didn't shut down correctly. The issue is that none of the content is showing in my gallery. Any idea why this might be?
