      • Note: Some backported games will ask for update of firmware even after being backported, this spoof should fix those issues .

that's the problem with the ps4. the 8TB thing is misleading, because the only way you'd be able to fit that into the system is to cut through the metal shield from what I've heard. 2TB is the largest 9.5mm hdd on the market afaik, so that's really the max.

Best choice i've ever made, i used to hate how slow the ps4 was before i put a ssd in it. (im not using this 4tb model in it though) fyi

@Joonie , I fixed 25 games, 2 failures (ghostbusters and control) and four failed updates including the red dead redemption one and v rally 4. that's a pretty good ratio as that's all of them. now, I'm just going to do the save mounter thing next to decrypt my saves. then, I'll format. I'm going to buy a 5TB external hdd, which I heard from a friend is the biggest you can use without an external power supply or y cable.

TBH, I lost interest in backporting since I left 5.05. some games run sluggish on 5.05 when backported so it's not really worth trying unless you really want to stay on 5.05. for games I'd def ditch 5.05.

I'll probably update once xproject is updated. I know leeful's frontend has been. I have them both, but I usually use x project. I think leeful's auto caches, not sure about xproject. I'm pretty sure I had to do it manually though.

night before last out of no where i kept getting exploited not loaded restart ps4, then 3 seconds later KP. happened 2 times in a row then worked itself out. the next morning i was getting non stop KP's. i woke up around 830 and didnt get it to work until 11 or so. think it might have to do with a backported game, is that possible?
the only thing i did before all these KP's was a db back up and installed 2 games. 1( RE2 backported worked on 5.05) and 2(shadows die twice)
it worked again after i deleted RE2. it took a couple of more times but worked.
wierd.

Hello can anybody tell me which PS4 firmware console to buy? 5.05 or 6.72? Is 6.72 stable enough to use?

Hi all. I have a similar question like snkplkn. I have a system at 5.05 . Something that I haven´t understand yet, is... should I stay on 5.05 and backport games, or would it be better to update to 6.72. If I update, will all the games I already have installed still work? Thanks a lot for any insight on this.

I don't see any point in staying on 5.05 when 6.72 is a lot more stable now. Many users are having different success rate depending on the model and payloads/menus they are using. You have to try them yourself and stick to the one that works best for you. All your pre-installed games will work after updating, so no worries there.

If having few KPs before a successful hack is a PITA for you, then stay on 5.05. [emoji16]

DO NOT UPDATE if you are on 5.05

PS4 scene progress is very slow & we don't know when 6.72 will be stable enough like 5.05. We don't know when 7xx hack will be available.

5.05 is the gold standard of stability on PS4. I have faced problems with 6.72 like game freezes & bad shutdowns (which can be attributed to KP). The biggest problem with is improper shutdowns when initiating payloads. Even if success rate of JB is 80%, you still have 20% of failures and which i don't see good for PS4 specially the harddrive.

By the way, don't pin your hopes on backporting games. Backports are causing problems depending on games. If you are on 5.05, you should be realistic on your expectations. You can play backups flawlessly from 2013-March 2018. You can play some backports from 6.72 but with varying degree of stability. That's it. With 6.72 you can play games until mid 2019. No further.

So 6.72 gives you an additional year of playback capability but its unstable.

Updating to 6.72 means all your installed games on present 5.05 will still work but the problem is about initiation of JB & launching payloads. This hasn't been perfected yet and developers are working for better stability.
