PS5 PS5 and Xbox Series X will "recommend" you to buy a new TV (but you DON'T need a new one)!

As we are talking for the normal 2.0 and not for the versions of 2.0 i know that 2.0b supports 4K60FPS but not 8K. Why is corona thread closed :chuncky: lol stay at home this is my warning to everyone who thinks that is gonna die lolloolll.

Both PS4 and XB1 already supported 4K @ 60 FPS fine so long the specific Game was properly designed for that. It is not the fault of the "HDMI Founders" that both Console and Game Developers are lazy as f**k and that only 5% of all Games released for this console generation are supporting "True 4K@60FPS".

Yes, 8K would be more tricky but as you can see, it would run at least at 30 FPS by using "subsampling". This feature isn't new btw since for 4K@60FPS but with "HDR" included, HDMI 2.0 is even "forced" to use subsampling which is both in use already for PS4/XB1.

Both HDMI 2.0a and b are technically the same. Only some "HLG" features are different.

It is true that both PS4 and xbox had some games with true 4K30FPS but most of the games that are 60FPS in xone and PS4 are actually not played in true 4K resolution, and today Xbox revealed that they are aiming for 4K60FPS and 120 FPS performance in Xbox Series X.

this is pretty much why I'm more a Nintendo fan. the whole point of console gaming is not to have to upgrade constantly, but now it seems like you do with consoles as well. I mean they released a new xbox/playstation just two years after the original phats with the slim, then two more years later with the one x/pro. it's starting to piss me off. if you want to make the most out of your purchase, you pretty much have to buy an entirely new setup. because of that, I see no difference between pc and console gaming anymore.

anyway, the BEST games was done 10 years ago and over....
me too im deciding to stop after PS3 (not even bought a PS4)

Modern games are flat as lake water...
maybe one or two masterpiece pop per 10 years ,like the last of us franchise , but seriously...i dont think it worth the pain and money to upgrade everything.

I will continue playing my old nintendo , ps1-ps2-ps3 games until i pass away.
we are from a certain generation , the PS5-XBOX one serie x is for another generation , younger , that dont care be abused because they dont know what it look like ...but us , older generation , are ...tired...

Better spending the rest of your time with less complicated games that actually give us somes love !

Stay Safe & take care

indeed. that's how I feel. I own a ps4, but it collects dust mostly due to having a banned account and being on 5.05. though, the games don't really interest me much. tales of zestiria and star ocean are some of the weaker games from their series. I've heard that final fantasy xv is pretty shitty too, but I bought the pocket edition for the switch. I heard that it's very easy though (haven't played it yet).

I've been spending my time playing breath of fire 2 on the switch, which is kinda funny I guess, because I went way old school. I don't remember the game being this hard, but I think I've developed a soft touch from all the hand holding in modern games. right now, I just got the ring back for Jean the frog. I did recently prepurchase trials of mana and legends of cold steel 3 on the switch. what I find a bit odd is that I could prepurchase cold steel, because the game doesn't even come out 'til June 30th iirc. I can't believe it's available that far in advance. I just setup my second switch downstairs, since I got the animal crossing system a week or so ago. I'm going to try using that system for ring fit adventures.
