As we are talking for the normal 2.0 and not for the versions of 2.0 i know that 2.0b supports 4K60FPS but not 8K. Why is corona thread closedlol stay at home this is my warning to everyone who thinks that is gonna die lolloolll.
Both PS4 and XB1 already supported 4K @ 60 FPS fine so long the specific Game was properly designed for that. It is not the fault of the "HDMI Founders" that both Console and Game Developers are lazy as f**k and that only 5% of all Games released for this console generation are supporting "True 4K@60FPS".
Yes, 8K would be more tricky but as you can see, it would run at least at 30 FPS by using "subsampling". This feature isn't new btw since for 4K@60FPS but with "HDR" included, HDMI 2.0 is even "forced" to use subsampling which is both in use already for PS4/XB1.

Both HDMI 2.0a and b are technically the same. Only some "HLG" features are different.
