I have a disk with the psbbn 0.32+Soft.rar installed and it has Internet and utilities as well but in this one are missing. Are they removed or something went wrong with my installation ?

My version is an English translation of the stock Japanese PSBBN. My goal was to keep it as close to the original Japanese version as possible. psbbn 0.32+Soft.rar is more of a fan made hack with modified menus and doesn't faithfully represent the Japanese original.

Ooooh i didn't know it was custom addition. Ok it make sense. The most useful from that custom menu was the power off option tho.

so i have a question. since PS1 games work via POPS, how do we set up for multi disc games? same as before or does the installer auto handle?

Same as before, create a DISCS.TXT file and put it into the VMC for that game.

When OPL saves settings without a memory card connected, it saves to mass0, the exFAT partition on the internal HDD. The problem is, OPL can't read the settings from there at startup, as the settings need to be read first to enable BDM HDD support. Maybe the OPL devs can come up with a solution in the future, but saving the settings to a memory card isn't really much of a hardship.

ok, i tested opl and i get the no game list bug :/ using official network adapter and bitfunx mod and the original black sata mod bitfunx copied

i noticed in the github you said the kaico sata mod works, is there a place to buy them?

Everybody with the problem seems to be using a bitfunx SATA mod. I think the Kaico one is a bit hard to find now, I've had mine for ages. Trying a different drive is your best bet or just hang tight for the Neutrino launcher.

might order the kaico network adapter to test. why not put the grimm olp instead?

It needs to be an official Sony network adapter with a SATA mod.

Getting Grimdoomer's OPL to compile is next to impossible with the current SDK and it lacks the working auto-load support for BDM devices that PSBBN relies on. This project uses the official pre-release build of OPL, it's a known issue so I hope it gets fixed.

sorry another question about POPS. is there a way to list multi disc games as one entry? like instead of having two entries fo Metal Gear Solid, or four for Final Fantasy VIII. just as a way to kind of declutter

Yeah, the easiest way would be to delete them from the Game Channel on PSBBN, just press triangle and select delete. You can then just load up disc one, load your save file then do the disc swap combination on the controller.

I bet its the V1 still floating around or knock off bitfunx resellers.
I got mine from official bitfunx, and made sure it showed

V2.0 in the top right.
Also I don't know if it matters but I'm using a 3.5" drive as well. And my network adapter is a model SCPH-10281

The 1.0 and knock off bitfunx chip are known to be problematic for even some games.

That said, I absolutely love your work and it works flawlessly despite a slow boot time (because I'm using a 2TB 5400RPM HDD).
Once you go PSBBN, you never go back <3

The one you own has the exact text? It displays the opl games? Im looking for to buy one but there are tons on all sites

Edit: Im not sure if its the bitfunx adapter that causes the opl bug as I own the original sata adapter (the black one) that bitfunx cloned and it still doesnt show the games :/

I can't say for certain it will work, it just works for me and my SCPH-39001 console.

Hi, i have a question regarding the hdd adapter. would it i still be able to go on with the process of installing PSBBN even though i dont have the official network adapter ? as its written on the github page in general notes

• PSBBN requires a Fat PS2 console** with expansion bay and an official Sony Network Adapter

PSBBN will not boot with a third-party adapter. You need the official Sony Network Adapter ideally with a SATA modification as shown above.

That's not the problem. If you try a different drive you might get lucky. The bug is only an issue with OPL. There's a Neutrino launcher in the works and that should work on all the drives that currently have problems.
