PSN access using CFW 4.88

So this is a topic that results in failure for many people. This is because after following all the steps you can't sign in because every time you try it says invalid password.

So by following the steps in the video below results in many people unable to sign in due to the PSN server not accepting there password.

So its important to point out that you must have the latest version of webman and multiman installed to get to the point where you can attempt to put in your password, otherwise it just comes up with the message that an update is required.

I have discovered how to resolve this issue that so many people have problems with!

(1) Sign into PSN using your phone or laptop.(I used the PSN app)
(2) Go to settings (top right icon)
(3) Go to account information
(4) Go to top left icon (3 horizontal lines)
(5) select security (asks to confirm as it takes you to another page, select "Yes")
(6) Scroll down to the bottom of this page and select the "Generate or manage device setup passwords"
(7) Now use this password to sign into your account on your PS3.

See my video below. (Link to the text file required is at the end of this post.

It works for CFW and HEN.

It also works using the PSN phone app, very easy as outlined in my steps. I used my existing account but it wouldn't recognise my password. So I used the app to generate one and bingo!

How long have you been using this method? including previous CFWs.
Are you banned faster?

I have never had a ban, I always use the triangle and right two hot keys to disable my firmware. This means it's less likely to be detected and the chances of a ban are unlikely

I am considering changing MAC address, as some have suggested that it is unique to each console.

Are you using Rebug right now (what version?) to bypass update?

I was using Evilnat 4.88, however now you can install Evilnat 4.89 so there is no need to bypass the update. Simply install Evilnat 4.89.1 and your good to go!
Theres some functions like CCAPI not being supported to connect RTM for 4.89 at the moment.

Have you previously been using older CFW on Dex to bypass these updates? I see some are and theyre not banned.

You should use the password generated on Sony's web site (follow the screenshots in my post).
If your password still does not work, try generating another one again.

Thank you so much for this. For years I have avoided logging into PSN but I have recently needed to do so. I am running CFW 4.89 Evilnat and have Webman, MM etc... This will be the VERY FIRST time I'm attempting to login to PSN.. Is the link you have above everything that I'll need to login to PSN? Is there anything else that I need to do aside from the instructions you've provided here? Thank you so much.
