PS3 PSN Error 80710A06 - Spoofed CFW's unable to go online

Some bad news for PS3 CFW user's who have a "spoofed firmware" as it seems Sony has made a move to block spoofs from accessing the PlayStation Network (PSN), however CFW user on 4.66 are unaffected at this time. When logging into the network you will be presented with a Error Code of "80710A06" and be signed out of the network, which reports have pointed to only spoofed CFW user's getting this error. The good news [break]ss[/break] recently there was a release of about 8 popular services that no longer have the PSN login attached to them thanks to scene developers who were able to lift this intrusive requirement the official Netflix / YouTube and other applications . Its not even a proper spoof, just c/p'd vsh.self, index.dat, version.txt from habib 4.66

I believe it breaks certain Cobra functions and soft bricks by changing modes, which would make it not proper :p if they are going to use this might as well update to 4.66 Habib

VSH.self is upated with this spoof but not this hash in cobra stage2 so if cobra is enabled you will have a nice soft brick (switch hdd with another one to fix it if you cant get the recovery).

good to know but I was just making a statement as I'm on REBUG 4.46.1 REX/Cobra 7.03 and wouldn't even think about using that spoof :p

I to use this cfw, i thought u made spoofs? Unofficial updaters Is there a chance for us lower cfw user to still gain sen access in future?

All this dodgy hotfix seems a waste of time and agree ppl may aswell move to habib altho i wont lol

I'm aware of the bricks I'm the one that posted about that page or two back. It breaks PSP/PS2 but those can't be used while online anyway so you can simply swap back if that's what you needed but all the other functions still work. And it wasn't a soft brick as I could only recover with my E3. Kept getting no video even though it would beep properly like it was about to work but I couldn't access it at all. The only reason this works is cause of the minor changes going from 4.65 to 4.66

Can't be recovered with hdd swap to force recovery/safe mode?

 

that may be a possibility but I didn't have one to test with.

I personally would not use anything found on YouTube, too many bricks come from there

He released one back for 4.66 when it first came out also.

Those whom make spoofers should really need to know why it softbricks when cobra is trying to patch vsh dynamically, its patches are hard coded with 64bit hashes and if it doesn't match then it will either soft brick or lose its functions due to unpatched patches.

VSH offsets are almost identical with 4.65, stage2 just needs its hash update, then everything will be fully functional with spoofers

OR would i simply overwrite the original self with habibs then apply needed hashes to stage two as we discussed,?

Don't mess with 4.66 vsh until it's reversed, habib seems interested in looking at it.

Sony released the new Official Firmware 4.70 .
Guys, is there any hope for get online again on DEX? ( I'm on Rebug D-REX 4.65.2 ) What do you think?

Rancid-o from team PS3ITA found the true spoof which has high ban risk due to new SSL changes since 4.70.

It works nonetheless.

We only found a way to make a true spoof to fw 4.70!

The VSH has not been replaced with that of the firmware 4.66 (or similar crap), we only applied a small patch at VSH (two NOP and the magic is done)
The spoof is compatible with the following CFW PS3ITA: 4.50 DEX, 4.50 DEX COBRA, 4.55 DEX.
You can install it using the new version of CFW Setup (v.4.9.9).

Installation is very simple:

- Download CFW Setup v4.9.9 from here: Download PKG / Download SRC
- Install it on your PS3
- Run it
- Select the option "Install Spoof 4.70″
- Wait the restart of console
- Enjoy

HOW TO CREATE THE SPOOF FOR OTHER CFW
Get an hex editor, search in the VSH the bytes 409E003C 48000010, replace it with 60000000 60000000.
