PSN Games - unable to launch from folders backup (no pkg)

Hi all,

maybe a PKG/PSN guru can chime in to help ;-)

Before deliding my PS3, I backed up all my games via FTP to a PC, including ~20 PSN games. The PSN games were normally installed using PKGs - that I did not keep (important you'll see why).

I then destroyed my PS3 during the delid process :(

So I got myself another PS3 and re-transferred back all my games folders from the PC.

I am able to launch all the standard games located in /dev_hdd0/GAMES using Webman but I can't launch any of the PSN games that were in /dev_hdd0/game :

Not a single icon/launcher shows in XMB... So the games are here but not launchable.

So, is there a way for me to have all these PSN games showing again in XMB ? convert, resign something?

Again, I did not keep the PKGs, I only have the NPExxx NPUBxxx folders.

(Rif files are in exdata since I kept the rap files and I re-imported them with ReactPSN)

Thanks in advance for the help!

Have you tried logging into PSN and redownloading your games?

Enter recovery mode and rebuild database

I had a bad experience on a previous install (see post #5 of this thread) in short, went in recovery then hit "Rebuild Database" but then back in XMB the PSN games were still missing and Webman games would freeze the console... So I don't know if I want to try that again :(

Nope. I have a CFW (rebug 4.86), is it safe to do that ?

It'd be safer if you disable custom firmware syscalls before logging into PSN.
But it is the best baseline to start from. Downloading the game from PSN means we can assume it isn't the game data that's the problem.

@kadorna2 you were right!

here the thing, I didn't want to rebuilt the database from Recovery mode after my bad experiance, but after many attempts to get those games back, I ended trying to type my PS3 IP in a browser from my PC, only to discover that Webman also has a webUI !! And it's very convenient btw.

So I was playing with the menus and after clicking on "CoverFlow" I saw that menu on the top right corner :

Which lands on a giant setup list with.......

I had just one PSN game folder left in dev_hdd0/game since I've (stupidly) deleted all other 20 folders earlier today.

Anyway, clicked on Rebuild DB, rebooted, had the XMB rebuilt message, waited a minute and then... saw the game in my XMB !! BOOM!!! ad it worked as well as the Webman games so all good.

Thanks man, that was it. You saved me hours and hours of pkg retrieval and install.

So back to re-transferring all folders from PC backup via FTP and will rebuild DB again once the transfer is done.

In the network column there's a folder called custom firmware settings, you can find rebuild database under system tools

@kadorna2 I don't see a Network column, here is what I have :

the only way to access the detailed menu with rebuilt DB is by clicking on Coverflow then on the icon on the top right corner
