PS3 PSN Liberator updated to v1.1 by Rudi Rastelli

Developer @Rudi Rastelli updated his PSN Liberator to version 1.0. PSN Liberator is tool to converts your purchased PSN-content, like Games, PS1- PS2-Classics, DLCs, Minis, Themes and Avatars to a disc (iso or folder) format. Converting these games gives several conveniences, one of the most notable maybe is the ability to use the content in backup manager's making all your content available in one place.

In version v1.0 there has been several enchantments as a new and improved "polished GUI" has made it's way in this update which has an added Drag & Drop feature with a new Progress Bar to go along with it, The developer has added some other features and a few bug fixes as outlined in the changelog provided. Plus Rudi Rastelli has also provided user's some tips that can be viewed in the tab below and also in the included ReadME that comes in both English and German.

    upload_2016-9-25_12-29-27.png

  • How to use PSN Liberator
    1. Start LIBERATOR and follow assistent to the point to set up LIBERATOR for 1st use
Note: You can use the "PSN CONTENT"-folder from the LIBERATOR's program directory. It's a possible folder structure just for to show you how to get started... Just copy it elsewhere to follow the "How-To-Use"-Example (see below)

    "How-To-Use"-Example:

    1. You need a fully installed, activated and updated PSN-game on your PS3. DLCs could be installed as well(they must be activated)
(Most likely you already have a such a game on your PS3... else got to PSN-store and buy one)

    2. Find out the "GameID" of the game and search in "/dev_hdd0/games/" for a folder with exactly the name of that "GameID"
Copy that folder to "PSN CONTENT\LOCKED\PSN GAMES\"

    3. Now enter "/dev_hdd0/home/0000000x/exdata/" and search for
    a) all "*.rif"-files with the "GameID" in it's name and copy them to "PSN CONTENT\RIFsRAPs"
    b) an "*.edat"-file with the "GameID" in it's name and copy it to "PSN CONTENT\UNLOCKS"
(Not all games have "*.rif"- AND "*.edat"-files... often games have only one type)
TIP: At 1st time just copy over all RIFs and EDATs you'll find.

    4. Set up in LIBERATORs main menu:
    a) "PSN Game Folder" = "PSN CONTENT\LOCKED\PSN GAMES\[GameID]\"
    b) "PSN Game Unlock File" = "PSN CONTENT\UNLOCKS\****[GameID]****.edat" (only if you've found an *.edat" for your game)

    5. Press Button:
    a) "GAME FOLDER" -> Creates a liberated [TitleID]-folder for direct installation to 'dev_hdd0/game/' (see Tips)
    b) "PKG" -> Creates a liberated PKG-File
    c) "DISC FOLDER" -> Creates a liberated Disc-Game-Folder
    d) "ISO" -> Creates a liberated ISO-File

  • Notes:
    • To get Update-PKGs for each game u can use my PS3 GAME UPDATER

    • Sometimes an additional Unlock-PKG-File will be created. Install it to finally liberate the game. You can 1st try the liberated game without that Unlock-PKG-File installed. Not all games need them. Just try !

    • If you like you can add (dev_)klics you've found yourself to "my_klics.txt"(located in "Tools"-subfolder).

    • Not all PSN-games will work when they are converted to disc. It's a matter of TRY & ERROR ! (Sometimes it works without problems, sometimes it doesn't work at all, sometimes with freezes/errors/glitches)

    • The icon("ICON0.PNG") of every processed content will be saved in "[LIBERATOR Programmverzeichnis]\GameIconCache\"-folder as "[GameID].PNG". This will most likely shorten the creation of a "Bubble"-PKG-Install-Disc with "Bubble"-Game-Icons.

    • While creating a "Bubble"-PKG-Install-Disc just drag&drop the PKG-Files, which should be included in the disc. Then arrange them to your likings. Create disc as game-folder or ISO.

    • If you've selected to use "Bubbles" with game-icons LIBERATOR will 1st search in "[LIBERATOR Programmverzeichnis]\GameIconCache\" for a "[GameID].PNG"-file. If it's not there it will extract the PKG-file to get the "ICON0.PNG". This could take a long time. To avoid this you can add game-icons maunally to "GameIconCache". Just name them "[GameID].PNG".

    • Keep in mind that a "Bubble"-PKG-Install-Disc can get really big depending on the number of and size of the PKG-Files you've added.

    • Don't update liberated games online or offline !... else they will be locked again !

    • I strongly advice to NOT put the "PSN CONTENT"-directory to deep into sub-directorys, because 'PKGView' does not like very long paths and then tends to create an exception.

  • Tips:
With latest webMAN_MOD you can dump (Dev_)Klicensees:
    A) Enter "/klic.ps3?log" at 'CUSTOM COMBO'
    B) Start Game and press 'PS'-button to call the In-Game-XMB-Menu. Here u press 'R2+[]' for about 1-2 seconds. This dumps the '(Dev_)Klicensee' to "dev_hdd0/klic.log"
Repeat this step for as many games as u like
    C) Copy "klic.log" to PC.
    D) Use "Import 'klic.log' to 'my_klics.txt'" in Liberator's Extra Menu

Whenever bruteforce approach to obtain Dev_Klicensee fails Liberator prompts you to enter it manually.
At this time a decrypted EBOOT.BIN(=EBOOT.ELF) should be available in 'Tools'-subdirectory.

Reduce installation time and disc-space for archivation:
    A) Liberate Game(s) as 'GAME FOLDER'
    B) Install Game(s): Copy the resulting [TitleID]-folder(s) to 'dev_hdd0/game/'. Then run 'Rebuild Database' from PS3 recovery mode.
    C) Archive Game(s): Pack the resulting [TitleID]-folder(s) with a packer of your choise(eg WinRAR).

Why continue to convert a game that can't be succesfully converted because vital information is missing ?

But another thing i don't like is that if u try to liberate a bunch of PKGs at once LIBERATOR stops if an error appears. Instead it should notice the error in log and skip to next pkg.

Because that file (libfs.sprx) don't need to be converted; just copied.

OK I have a file that is no longer on PSN and I can't get it back even from my download list. Now I have managed to get it to work making an "unlock" PKG but I don't have the rif file anymore. What's more is I can't seem to find a rap file either. Is there anyway to make this tool work with this? I got banned sometime back and I would love to test it out. Rap/rif is a MUST even when I can make it work?

it's an edat c00? that's the only unlock pkg u can make afaik. some games require the rap/rif to decrypt self/sprx files while the klicense is for edat/sdat files. u can either use the system (rebug) and mysis' xai plugin to grab the klicense or bruteforce it with @aldostools bruteforcing tool. if u can remove the encryption and make the game free, which is what this tool does, it will work.

It has an edat and I have it in the proper folder but the app tells me it needs the rap/rif but I know one isn't in there. But game launches from from the XMB. I can't recall how I did it long ago but I switched to gaming on my BC model and it installed fine. The PKG installs and says must purchase game from PSN store so it had been a while since I used it and resigned the eboot to 4.21 for my unlock pkg. It installed and played fine. I looked in both pkg files and only saw an edat no rif/rap. Been so long since I used this tool as I have used it for other stuff like Castlevania that never got a release outside PSN but that ISO works fine as well. I think it's stupid when you go to buy a game in the collection form and there's only one disc and a bunch of vouchers.

I'm not sure if u can make an edat-only game free without using the edat itself. do u happen to remember the title id? c00 games, most of them, start with a 3 for the numeral portion. u can also tell on the system if there's a c00 folder with the game. check the content id as well. if u recall, I sent u my rap collection when ur hdd got corrupted, so the rap file name itself will have the same name as the content id. if the rap is in there, u'll find it with that.

btw, if u can get the game to free with something like scetool and npdrm, u won't need to use the app for that particular game. it's just meant to make it easier. what it does is decrypts the game with the rap, then it reencrpts it with a free klicense. it should do the same with any edat/sdat u have. afaik, the klicense itself, if it's free, negates the rap/rif decryption. it's flagged as acceptable by the system, so it decrypts the content normally. that's when the buyer's field is removed as well.

@Rudi Rastelli I got my game to convert to ISO and works wonderfully. I remember I free'd it a while back with an edat but the app failed converting as I forgot to rename the edat to that of the game.

@pinky I got it working now thanks for all the input as usual. It was some user error mixed with an agressive AV that kept trying to remove components of the app. I reinstalled my OS recently as I couldn't get my internet to play nicely and create a fake hotspot. I allow my neighbor to use my internet but since my modem isn't dual band I turned a USB wifi adapter into a hotspot for her and limit the bandwidth.

yw. I'm glad u got it working. what's interesting (u probably know this) is that retail carts on the vita contain a license (rif). the ps4 may be the same, but I don't know for sure.

Can i possibly liberate an update ? instead of re doing the whole game each time an update pops up ?

can someone please make a youtube video with specific directions on how to use this program tried to turn one of my psn in games on ps3 into pkg to put it on my other ps3 the game is call of duty ghost. thanks alot

rudy I tested your program and the only flaw I seen so far is when I install the game when it goes to try to load trophy install it stops there and wont go further boots me out of the game completely on psn games 4 out of 7 games worked other 3 didn't might wanna look into that one for us please

I have a PS3 with Rebug 4.81.2, and a bunch of games downloaded from PSN. Would I be able to use this to transfer to another PS3 with Rebug 4.81.2?

You can use the data transfer utility to transfer the content from one console to another:
http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/transferutility.html

NOTE: The games will be deleted from the source after the data is transferred.

Or login to PSN with the same user on the other console and re-download the games.

A third method is more difficut and involves copying the licenses (rif/rap) using ReActPSN.

Do both PS3's need to be on PSN? I don't want my source PS3 to get banned. My target PS3 was bought 2nd hand from someone who it looked like they used their own PS3 account. I factory reset it, and jailbroken it, and I have no desire to use PSN on it.

Clicking on Downalod link i get a 403 error... can anyone reupload this tool?

Edit: that was because Italy obscured the host... solved using VPN.

PSN Liberator 1.0 (PS3 PKG Ripper 1.4.3 update)

Changelog:
- Updated PS3 PKG Ripper to 1.4.3 (as for problems solved in PS3 PKG Ripper)

Because this tool used the last flawed version (at least i think that, because my antivirus "Kaspersky" deleted that exe when zip extracted as it does with threats) I thought to update the PS3 PKG Ripper version to 1.4.3 used inside that tool.

So from now on users wanting to use that tool can do without worries and without antivirus saying that there's a threat!

Here's the new link to update: https://mega.nz/#!R1kAHS7I!ca-8RJyqa-GxB3oJ7h1NRoVCQJdHrgMvTs28DM06RZ8

Maybe this can be updated in top link, @kozarovv

FYI Windows Defender Antivirus detected this file as a virus.

FYI Windows Defender Antivirus detected this file as a virus.

I have Kaspersky Anti-Visrus installed and it does not complain; the only modification made are to changelog.txt and replaced PS3 PKG Ripper with 1.4.3 version from Rudi Rastelli forum post in cited thread, no other modifications.

Just solving the massive deletion of destination folder files

Before accusing me to be a malicius user, check by yourself the files... the PS3 PKG Ripper (the only modified file inside that archive in respect to PSN Liberator 1.0, not considering changelog.txt) comes from Rudi Rastelli's 1.4.3 update; You can easily verify that the PS3 PKG Ripper.exe file hash is the same here compared to that thread executable.

I want to make an iso of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition with PSN Liberator v1.0.
It works but I can't get DLC to show up. Any suggestions on how to do this ? BTW I already put all the DLC rap files in the RIFsRAPs folder
