PS3 PSN Name Change

Hi I wanted to know if I changed my psn name to one of someone who played back in the day. Will this fix games that have problems with the new name system

all ps5 games are compatible, but I'm not sure about ps3/4/vita games. if you never played the games, you should be fine. I changed my name once, and I've yet to encounter any problems, even as far back as the ps3, but I had played so few games. there's really no way to tell unless you check your games. if you're like me, you're probably fine. you should be good regardless, but sony doesn't promise anything beyond the ps5 library.

edit: your account id is what really matters, but there could be some problematic games, which is what sony is worried about, ones that utilize the psn name in some way for the trophies. like, I remember a piece of equipment in legend of legaia 1 or 2, which was named after one of the names I had given a character. those sorts of things might be what sony is talking about. granted, it was just a piece of a equipment, and on a system that doesn't have trophies, but it could be things like that.

I don't know. the only games sony promises are compatible are for the ps5. you could take your chances, but there are no guarantees.
