PSN Patch trouble

I am using CFW 4.86. Can PSN patch be used with that? I was told I would need it for DLC. When I run it however I can't figure out how.where to log in. Someone said the R2 button. but this is all it says

Seems you do not have a valid act.dat file. I would suggest just update to 4.88 it is easy and is a pretty nifty firmware to aid in things oke needs while using CFW.

Do you mean that file that I change to ps3pupdat.pup? I wa just wondering because I got it from another user that suggested going from 4.86-4.82 so I did that and stil don't see how to log in

You should only download and install software from trusted sites.

Yes, update to 4.88.
