PS3 PSNpatch - Releases / Usage Information (Official Support Thread)

I don't believe this is correct.. otherwise, it would be a major issue for a lot of people who've soft bricked. it does have update protection for the bd. instead of searching for PS3_UPDATE, it searches for NOT_UPDATE for bd only. I searched for it in the emer_init.self (the recovery menu), and I don't believe I saw any changes to usb updating.

edit: I just double-checked using 4.81.2 as a base. nothing has changed with usb updates, only bd or bdvd have been changed to NOT_UPDATE and NOT/UPDATE respectively.

I worked it out - it was bad hdd. I bought new one and installed it. And I was right - you can't install rebug from recovery, it gives you corrupted file error every time. But I flashed ferrox 4.82.1 and then rebug from OS. Installed psnpatch and everything working fine.

that shouldn't be the case. I looked in the emer_init.self (the recovery menu), and all that's changed is the bd update. ;)

when i spoof cid with psnpatch, after when i enter into webman i find the old cid, what i should do ? Rebug 4,82 lite

Would it be possible to have PSNpatch check hdd0\plugins for a PSNpatch.cfg and if found allow this file priority so the plugin can be used with a custom configuration (to spoof IDPS etc) without the application installed or usb000. The PSNpatch application could be installed, run and deleted but (app and plugin) will always have access to the user configured PSNpatch.cfg in hdd0/plugins. I think this would be great if (like myself) you use the plugin primarily but use the application occasionally as well. Thanks @kokotonix

I choosen (Triangle) disable cfw
Then everytime i turn on my system with controller. Its need to reassigned.

Edit: if turn on by system's switch, the controller assign/connect wirelessly normal

Config is read following these paths:
#define CONFIG_USB "/dev_usb000/psnpatch.cfg"
#define CONFIG_HDD1 "/dev_hdd0/game/PSNP11001/USRDIR/psnpatch.cfg"
#define CONFIG_HDD2 "/dev_hdd0/game/BLJS10018/USRDIR/psnpatch.cfg"
#define CONFIG_DEFAULT1 "/dev_hdd0/game/PSNP11001/USRDIR/default.cfg"
#define CONFIG_DEFAULT2 "/dev_hdd0/game/BLJS10018/USRDIR/default.cfg"

Sorry but your post is not completely clear to me. Could you detail the issue further?

Psnpatch gives you what error exactly?
When you are using which feature? Restoring rif licenses?

It would help to know the exact error message.
Is it "Cannot open directory..."? Just that & nothing else? Does it say which directory cannot be opened?
Does psnpatch display the current user profile exdata directory path on screen?
Do you have a valid act.dat file in your current user profile? If it's a new user profile have you connected to PSN with this profile yet? Is the system activated ok?

Really I am amazed that people likes your answer knowing that you should be the pros so it's obvious that I am talking about the exdata folder I am trying to Install RAPS / EDAT. Instead you throw this somewhat provocation answer, don't play dumb plz instead read my post:

psnpatch 2017.02/B gives this error "cannot open directory what ever directory" when trying L1 to install RAPs / EDAT files from extdata folder,

Long story short, I tried just to put back the external hdd to play some games from it. while doing so I remembered that I have an extdata folder on it as well. Tried PSNPATCH youpi it works plugged usbstick tried same error "CANNOT OPEN DIRECTORY DEV/USB_000/EXDATA" tried to change USB port as mentioned in the release post using UP/Down on D-pad.

IT IS A BUG OF PSNPATCH YOU HAVE TO USE THE SAME STORGAE HDD OR USB YOU USED THE FIRST TIME WITH PSNPATCH OTHERWISE IT GIVES YOU THIS ERROR NO MATTER WHAT.

MY SOLUTION COPIED THE RAPS/EDAT FILES FROM USB EXDATA FOLDER TO MY EXTERNAL HDD EXDATA FOLDER THEN IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM PLEASE ADD THIS INFO TO AVOID PEPOPLE GOING CRAZY AS I AM USING PSNPATCH LONG TIME NOW.

IF I WAS YOU I'D ASK, IF I NEEDED MORE INFO
WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO? (which feature is beeing used)
IS IT FIRST TIME YOU'RE USING IT (act.dat / account activation)
FROM A USB / HDD? (patch giving the error)
WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE FOLDER YOUR RAPS/EDAT ARE IN? (in case I am stupid and put them in root or whatever folder)

I've tried import from several USB ports including both pen and external hard disk. Tried connecting trough a usb hub.
I've also imported from internal Hard drive.
It worked all the time.

I've also looked into the source code (it has been a while Since the last update) just to make sure that all seems to be as expected.

(EDIT)
Can you confirm that the user profile which is being used to import is activated in PSN ?

Made some more tests. Can't find any bug.
@Kirigaya
Are you sure the raps and /or edat are in an exdata folder in the root of the storage device ?
Take in mind that the rightmost USB port is usb0, left is usb1
Internal disk is hdd0
The storage device can be selected with up/down arrow keys.

Hi. I've had PSN Patch installed for sometime and now I noticed I could log in PSN without the PSN Patch combo or pressing X inside it. I have the plugin installed, and I've tried reinstalling PSN Patch but still I can connect without doing anything with PSN Patch and I don't like that because if I forget to do anything, it will not stop me from logging in (happened to a friend of mine too and I thought it was a problem with his PS3 or something, but it looks like it may not be). Can someone help me with this? I'd like to have it working. I'm DEX, btw (hope it works in DEX). Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I tried logging in multiple times and I logged in in all of them and as soon as the PSN session started I took the cable off for the PS3 doesn't have enough time to communicate everything to s0ny (I hope that was not enough time to communicate).

Locking PSN acess at boot time DOES NOT work in DEX.

Wow! So I thanks for the TargetID to always be changed to DEX on every boot! (i thought the error was from PSN Patch but it looks it was from Rebug Toolbox then). Is there any way to block PSN servers with any tool until CFW is disabled and those things PSN Patch does while on DEX?

And just another thing. Shouldn't that be in the documentation? That the PSN servers will no be blocked by it while on DEX? I think it doesn't say that (if it says, I'm sorry, I didn't see it). I've been thinking I was completely protected by PSN Patch since I got this PS3. If you can (and if it's not there), put that in the documentation, because it would be good to know that part only works on CEX. Thanks for the reply and REALLY helpful information!
