PS3 PSNpatch - Releases / Usage Information (Official Support Thread)

Hi,
I'm with latest FERROX 4.78 CFW and with PSNpatch 2015.11/A (no plugin installed however).

I'm new (kind of ...) to using PSNPatch, and i would like to ask for two simple questions ...

1 - When i want to go online, i ativate the internet connection before using PSNpatch (sign in to psn i do alway after patch, and in game). Should i ativate the internet after entering PSNpatch?

2 - What's is better: :/\: "Disable CFW and Exit" or :x: "Spoof IDPS & PSID, disable CFW & Exit"
Currently i'm using :/\: and without problems so far.

It's not a rule but enabling internet after enabling psnpatch sounds safer, if you are not using plugin.

2 - What's is better: :/\: "Disable CFW and Exit" or :x: "Spoof IDPS & PSID, disable CFW & Exit"
Currently i'm using :/\: and without problems so far.

:/\: is what you should use. :x: work correct only if you have another IDPS & PSID located in correct file.

I just want to add one word about plugin, i know if you never used "plugin" it sound little scary. But is best, safest, easiest way to run psn. If you will install plugin then your console will be disconnected from "spying" servers from first seconds. And then when you mount game you just push L3+R2+L2 and psn will be unlocked (like when you push triangle) but you don't need go to psnpatch app to do that. Just button combo in xmb and you can play online.

The instalation is done from PSNpatch itself, right?
 
anyone having any issues with rebug 4.78.1 rex ? works fine on 4.76 lite but on latest rebug it keeps hanging the system and I have to force shutdown, do system check and then I can use my ps3

hi guys.....i only want to use this tool to activate the rap file of PS2 Rebug launcher....but i dont want spoofing or PSN access etc.....just the rap activation...is it possible? do i need to press any button in particular? thanx very much.

I'm using the plugin with the auto IDPS spoof enbaled and file on USB device (cobra mode enabled)

system mostly hangs on boot, doesn't matter if it was a clean/dirty shutdown, I'll boot up and the system will load up and hangs, sometime bafter the REBUG logo, sometimes the XMB will just load. I hold the power button for 10 seconds to force shutdown, reboot, do the hdd check and then it boots normally. I have to say that I have never faced this issue on 4.76 LITE with COBRA updated to 7.2 using one of the custom updater pkg files.

This is the whole sequence of events :
I was on 4.76 lite spoofed to 4.78 with ARCH spoofer and psnpatch working fine, when 4.78 REX came out I updated normally, installed new toolbox, enabled COBRA and psnpatch worked again.
at some point I did a database rebuild on my ps3, can't remember why, and then psn patch would not detect COBRA on my cfw, tried switching it on and off from toolbox, reinstalling psnpatch, reinstalling 4.78 but it was all useless.
I went back to 4.76 and started from scratch again (toolbox, psnpatch...etc) and things started working again, so I reinstalled 4.78 REX and didn't update toolbox to latest, just used 2.0.0.7 to turn COBRA on 4.78 and psnpatch works but I started getting the freezes, I'm considering doing a full dehash (back to 3.55 and up to 4.78) but I haven't had time to do so yet.
 
Imho you should delete webman (plus all related settings files), delete psn patch app, plugin (sprx), boot_plugins.txt, delete toolbox, reinstall/install cfw from recovery. Now enable cobra + webman in toolbox (added to cfw NOT EARLIER) and install psn patch. If something will be wrong after that steps then we can try to search some deeper issue.

Got it workig again with reinstall firmware again.

how do you "delete webman" from REBUG ? isn't that a built-in part of the firmware ?

I'm going through the other stuff, removing psnpatch and reinstalling from recovery, and will report again.

Edit : deleted all homebrew and reinstalled 4.78REX from recovery, after installing toolbox and enabling cobra/webman, upon installing psnpatch it reports that cobra mode is not detected, and even before installing psnpatch i couldn't connect to ps3 as if my internet access was disabled by psnpatch :s (couldn't connect to ps3 via ftp)

I'm now in the process of going back to 3.55 and then reinstalling 4.78 again, and will update this post

Edit 2 : went all the way back to 3.55 ofw and then reinstalled 4.78, toolbox to enable cobra, reboot, webman-mod updater to latest (.26), reboot, psnpatch installed, open psnpatch : no cobra mode detected. So what am I missing ?
I'll reinstall 4.76 now, then psnpatch will work (I'm sure of this). big question : how to COMPLETELY reset webman on a rebug firmware ? what files do I need to delete ? can't find the .sprx file in /dev_hdd0, not to mention settings files

edit 3 : last edit, no idea what to do atm, everything works great up to 4.76 LITE REBUG, once I upgrade to 4.78 REX cobra disappears and psnpatch can't detect it anymore, I might reset system to defaults but I hardly think that's the issue, but anyway I'm done for tonight, gonna sleep on this and see if I come up with anything in the morning

for psnpatch to work properly in rebug rex you need to go into rebug toolbox an activate both "cobra mode" and "rebug mode".

How come on dex kernal u can sighn in with plugin enabled,no need for combo??
 
Have some doubts, example i can use webmanmod option to disable syscals and clear history and the other option to block PSN, now the question is should i use only those webman options or should i use psnpatch?
