PS3 PSNpatch - Releases / Usage Information (Official Support Thread)

Hi,

Firstly thanks for this big post, I learn some information about PSN Patch.

I just would like a confirmation, for be sure.

You tell PSN Patch is compatible with all CFW 4.21 and +, you precise Cobra system but no Debug system, but I think it's the same? Principaly on 4.46 and 4.65 Rebug with Target on DEX, if we use the lastest version of PSN Patch, it's ok for switch IDPS, desactivate syscalls and more?

Thanks in advance for your answer :)

psnpatch 4.66.32 was just released !

RELEASE NOTES:

4.66.32 17/01/2015
= Games patcher to version 4.46 extended to support ISO files (*.ISO and *.ISO.0 in /PS3ISO folders).
= C00 demos unlocking performance improved - it will create license only for demos not yet unlocked.
= Automatically unlocks ps2classics launcher (if needed) when unlocking C00 demos.
= Install/remove webman-mod 1.41.XX KW (light edition) for cobra systems and rebug 4.65.2.
= New version spoofing system, that dynamically patches stage2.bin for the spoofed vsh.self - read detailed docs.
= 4.46->4.66 and 4.65->4.66 versions spoofings updated accordingly.
= psnpatch plugin updated ( L3+R3+L2 displays the current mounted title_ID and/or the current running CID and DEV_KLIC - this is tech info for the future ...).
= many more code clean-ups and algorithmic improvements.

WARNING: A previous version uninstall is MOSTLY ADVISED before installing this new version.
NOTE: ps2classics have just to be installed and psnpatch will create the license

Special Thanks to aldostools for the idea of ps2classics launcher unlocker and the code portions for ISO PATCHER

Is this feature only for /dev_hdd0 and /dev_usb00x? Or are /ntfs /ext or /net also supported? Just curious... I want to add it to prepNTFS, but I don't want to duplicate efforts ;)

Also, please consider to patch the games to 4.21 instead of 4.46. MAMBA is supported on 4.21 and the app key is the same from 4.20 to 4.66.

It would avoid to have to patch all the ISO again if the user downgrade below 4.46.

Hi aldo:

It is just for hdd0 and usbxxxx.
The ISO patching is already for 4.21.
The folder format is for 4.46, but I agree with your suggestion and it is easy to change.

By the way, I ve adjusted some things to improve your ISO fixing routine. I will pm you the details.

Thx 4 the great new version.

Have 2 little feature requests:
1. Shouldn't "PSN Patch" remember if it had installed webMAN or not ?
Situation: I 1st install PSN Patch and (through Cobra-Toolbox) only the PSNP-plugin. Then i install webMAN-mod and re-enter Toolbox it looks like if i had installed webMAN through Toolbox because it reads "remove" at the webMAN-line.

2. How's about a little "PSNPatchUninstaller.pkg" which removes all of the various versions of PSN Patch and all of it's installed components completely and save ?
Background:
Myself 4 sure know how to do that, but since the uninstall got more complex since the stealth-extension-change i often get questions about how to do that task from not so advanced users in the german forums i support.

Rudi

Hi. Good questions ;)
Let me try to answer properly:

1. For a question of stability, Psnpatch assumes the total control only of its own plugin and related updates included in the pkg.
As webman is third party software, and can be included in the system with very different approaches, Psnpatch detects if it is installed in the place described by bootplugins.txt (and in the flash when running rebug), and so allowing to install or remove accordingly.

2. In the release notes I've recommended to remove Psnpatch from the PS3 before installing this new version.
This is the better approach for a proper cleanup.
Afterall the user just need to press TRIANGLE in the xmb and select uninstall.

1. Does the "remove webMAN" in cobra toolbox
a) delete the "webftp_server.sprx" and all of it's files and folders (wmconfig, wmtmp, WM_LANG etc) and the webMAN entry in bootplugins.txt ? ... OR...
b) does it only remove the webMAN entry in bootplugins.txt and that's all ?
if (a) : this would be great because with this you can clean up your system quite easy without any leftovers
if (b) : this is not clear by just reading the webMAN-line in cobra-toolbox (suggestion for that: "remove webMAN-plugin from list of boot-plugins" or something like that)
If i would have a wish free from my little fay kokotonix :p : Having both of these options in toolbox would be really cool.

2. I've read that 4 sure... but i also remembered the recommendation in 4.66.30 where you say u have to use an old version of psn patch to get rid of the old cobra-extensions.
But i'm sure u know whatever you write somewhere u can be sure in best case only half the people read it. Most people just pick up the the new version and install it over the old one and wuppps they have a problem with the old extensions not removed.
So i just wonder if it's possible to let the new versions of psn patch simply scan for old cobra-extensions and remove them automatically if detected. (Maybe only on 1st start)

Ah...
That's another issue.
I was referring the normal PSNPatch uninstall.
The stealth uninstall forces the need for having the standard stage2 bin Inside the PSNPatch package and I don't want that.
But that is no real issue: you keep the stealth extensions or not, PSNPatch will adapt itself accordingly.

I cannot replicate that issue.
It may be related to the CFW pathces or the backup manager or the game itself.

I advise you to update to habib 4.66 cobra or rebug 4.65.2 in cobra and rebug mode using the last PSNPatch and webman-mod.

After deleting the game's data and reinstall them, problem was solved.

Ps3 is locked on the "Unlocking PSN games DEMOS (C00 type). Please wait...

its been a good 20 to 30 minutes... is that normal? I'm on Rebug 4.65.2

Edit: i had old PsnPatch but had never used it, uninstalled it via XMB and installed latest. Also i don't have a valid PSN account maybe that was the problem?

scared... can i shut down the ps3 without damaging flash or something?

uff, ook, so to get a valid PSN account i should run PSN Patch by holding X till i hear one beep then i can hit sign up from the PSN tab on XMB and go through whatever steps they put me through, download something free from the PSN Store (is a demo a valid for this?) and after that just restart my ps3, should have no problem right?

(not interested in playing any games online, at least for now, just want to get the ps2 classics placeholder to work)

BTW, thanks kokotonix.

one question,
cant seem to figure it out.
in earlier versions i have the exdata profile correct. (43 or 00000043)
but since the 4.66 versions i cant seem to get it to stick. i deleted previous versions as suggested so i dont have a old one.
i have tried both above numbers
"# RAP to RIF handling
# First number to start search for a valid user account (usually 1)
user_account=
43 and tried 00000043

thanX in advance

user_account=43
should be enough.
but
user_account=1

should also work.
psnpatch will choose the first valid account in your system.
(you can then swap between valid account with left/right keys).

If psnpatch sayes the user is 0 or NULL it is because there is no valid user account in your system.
connect with that user to the psn, go to account management and choose to activate to play games.

sorry for late report. but seems so say 43 but followed but null. have deactivated and reactived device. when it did say "sw33tleef" user 17 it was my banned account.
anyways no worries.

since the update i have noticed i am getting a lot of timed outs, having a hard time connecting to my network wireless . hadnt had any problems before. i also notice that sometimes after restarting my network settings say private network only. i doubt it has anything to do with this app but thought i shoot out there.
still not banned so keep up the good work. LOL:rolleyes:

I'm not sure I fully understand everything you've written, but it seems you have not activated your user in psn.
That's why you still receive the "NULLs"...

We have this release ready for quite some days, but I really didn't had the time to prepare the release notes.
I believe that now they are ok.

For now, the release will be just here at psx-place.
(Maybe someone else could help sharing to other places.)

Please don't ask if it is already answered ;)

4.66.33 14/FEB/2015
 • New "Auto Mode" for PSNPatch plug-in (a);
 • Shortcut L3+R3+L2 displays status (current idps, mounted titleID, running contentID and devklic);
 • "Games Patcher" now patches to version 4.20;
 • When there isn't a valid user account, psnpatch will NOT install RAPS, EDATs, unlock C00 demos or ps2classics (b);
 • Cobra Toolbox in rebug, now works only when in "rebug system mode" (b);
 • Several reviews to the documentation (plug-in & version spoof sections).

(a) To use the new plug-in "auto mode" a very carefull read of the documentation should be made. Namely the "psnpatch plug-in" section.
(b) User friendly approach that guides the user to the solution.
