PSP PSP3000 not detecting battery

I have a PSP-3000 with motherboard TA-095.
The console does not recognize the battery and can only power on with the AC adapter.

To troubleshoot this, I compared it side-by-side with a known-good TA-095 motherboard. I found that some resistors around the super capacitor (backup capacitor) area were not reaching 1.9 V, so I replaced those resistors. After replacement, all of them now output a correct and stable 1.9 V.

The super capacitor itself also shows a proper 1.9 V on its pads. I then removed the super capacitor entirely, expecting the issue to be resolved, but the problem remained unchanged.

I also checked the resistors, capacitors, and MOSFETs around the battery IC / battery detection circuit, and all measured voltages appear normal. I even replaced the super capacitor with a new one, but the issue still persists.

The Baryon (power management) chip next to the super capacitor is a BGA package, and I attempted a controlled reflow on it, but that also did not fix the problem.

The current behavior is:
• When the AC adapter is plugged in, the LED turns orange, and the PSP can power on.
• A battery icon appears in the top-right corner.
• However, the battery icon does not animate (no charging animation).
• The system reports "External Power" instead of running on battery.

At this point, I'm completely stuck. All voltages look correct, the super capacitor circuit seems fine, and the battery detection components appear normal.

What is the real root cause of this issue?
What component is actually responsible for this behavior?

Any help from experienced PSP hardware repair technicians would be greatly appreciated.
