PS3 PSV Save Converter released

hi i cant converted some cbs save whit apollo i try but some save not working, i take the last one release, sommeone can help me please

edit i try whit macos version but is not open

the PSV save converter is a command line tool, you need to execute it from a Terminal console.
Code:
USAGE: ./psv-converter-macos <filename>

In any case, I'd suggest to try a different PS2 management tool to open the .cbs file, and export it to a different format, for example .PSU or .MAX. For example, https://www.ps2savetools.com/download/ps2-save-builder/
Keep in mind that most utilities run on Windows.

which guide? can you explain what you did?

Remember, the PSV save converter is a command line tool, you need to run it from a command line, or try drag&drop depending on your OS.

you need to drag the ps2 save-game file (for example a ".max" or ".psu" save) to the psv-converter.exe . Then you should find a new file with the .PSV extension.

If you have a .PSV, then copy the file to a usb drive, in \PS3\EXPORT\PSV\
then just use the XMB on your ps3 to copy the save-game from your usb to the ps2 virtual memory card.

Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant this guide. I opened CMD, dragged PSV exe to CMD and pressed Enter, then dragged the .max file to CMD and pressed Enter & after that it said "PSV resigned successfully" but when I hover the mouse over the file it still says MAX file.

the original file is not modified. So the ARMax file will stay unchanged.
A new PSV file is created by the converter in the folder, you should check for a file like BESLUS-202020.PSV

I can't seem to find it. Once it's resigned, it is the "dirName" I need to look for? Or "iconSysName"?

Hi do you know how to convert a epsxe save file to ps1 memory card?

ePSXe emulator, doesn't writing save into save container but to... "ps1 memory card" (*.mcr).

If You asking abut "save state", it is not a save but RAM dump. Save in game to virtual memory card and this will be Your "ps1 memory card".

PSV Save Converter is application to save conversions, not memory card managing or conversion.

If You want know more about all those three kind of "saves":

how would i convert the epsxe save thats on the memory card on the epsxe to the ps1 memory card on my ps2..
is it possible?

I don't understand the question.
  • If You asking about moving virtual memory card to real memory card, then write *.mcr by Memory Card Annhilator v2.0 into real PSX Memory Card.
  • If You asking about copy save from virtual memory card to real memory card, then extract save from *.mcr to RAW format by MemCard Rex, and copy it from pendrive to real PSX Memory Card by unofficial LaunchELF.

I have released a new version of PSV Save Converter:
https://github.com/bucanero/psv-save-converter/releases/tag/v1.2.0

I added some Apollo code that I had to extract .PSV files back to .mcs (PS1) and .psu (PS2) save-game formats.

This tool is not really meant for PS2 save conversion, but now you can use the latest version for that. You'll have to convert to PSV first, and then export back PSV to .psu. For example:
  1. convert the PS2 savegame (.max, .cbs, .xps, etc) to PSV
  2. use psv-save-converter again, on the generated .PSV (from step 1) and you'll get a .psu

Hello Bucanero,
I'm running into an issue with a specific PS2 Game (Pro evo Soccer 6 french edition) and its .max save file. When I try to convert it, the program does not run completely and seems to stop before the conversion :

MacBook-Pro:~ jb$ /Users/jb/Downloads/build/psv-converter-macos /Users/jb/Downloads/Manolo_V2_final.max
PSV Save Converter v1.2.0 - (c) 2020 by Bucanero

iconSysName : PES6FICHIER OPTION
compressedSize : 1252712
numFiles : 3
decompressedSize : 1252712
Compressed size: actual=820328, expected=1252712

Do you know what is happening here ?

If it can help, here is the .max file I'm trying to convert https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jA7uHMW5vAHslNqBwpdRETvOuJANmQDC/view?usp=sharing

it looks like the header in that save-game file is wrong (compressed and decompressed size are the same) and actually the compressed size data seems smaller... that's why the psv-converter stops with an error.

The source code can be patched to skip the check and force the conversion, but I can't tell if the final file will be valid or not.
If you can, try a different save-game, or try to open and convert that .max file to a different format with another tool.

if you're comfortable building from source, just check my source code and remove the "compressed size" check to see if it works anyways

thank you I will try. By the way I tried to convert this file with apollo save on my ps3, the conversion went through but the psv file was "damaged" at the end...

the best option is to try to open that file with a different tool and see if it's valid or corrupted. Then save it as a new file and try the conversion again.

I found out that there's a bug in my PSV converter, related to PS1 save-files bigger than 1 block.

I totally missed it, and I have been using hard-coded values that of course only work when the PS1 save is 1 block.

Since Berion is currently out, and I don't have much PS1 experience... can anyone help me out and send me any PS1 save that is 2 blocks or bigger? I want to test out the fix but I don't have any save over 1 block.

Any PS1 save-game should do it, I only need it to be 2 blocks or more. Save format can be MCS or PSX, (no need to be PSV, but PSV is ok too)

I might be able to help you @bucanero , but you'll have to send me a pm first. I can't send pm's for some reason. anyway, I have all my psx saves on my backup hdd drives. here's a two block save and a three block one right above it:

thanks for the help, I'll send a message

you can also try to upload the files to mediafire.com or zippyshare.com . Those are raw save files, right? no .MCS, PSX format, etc

Edit: I tried sending a PM but I've got "You may not start a conversation with the following recipients: pinky."
