PS4 PSX emulator in MediEvil remake?

Last time I have finished remake of MediEvil, a nice platformer from PSX. One of the things which player can unlock is "old MediEvil". I doubt it is rewritten to x86 so high probably is used some custom emulator (oh, and screen is a little stretched horizontally + ugly bilinear filtered). If that's true, it is quite interesting case because have different options menu: there is exit which exit to remake (it is possible to make such huge patches on the fly i.e in case of ps2emu? @kozarovv).

So, I heard that we have official (per game) PS2 and PSP emulators with complex patching system, so, it looks like (?) that now we got PSX emulator. Just speculation of course, I have latest official fw so I don't even know what MediEvil original PKG containing.

I was thinking the same thing, good thing to know.

My thoughts was to reverse engineer the MediEvil Enulator for individual use, but from the looks of it, i wouldn't be surprised if its just a straight port of PCSX with a SCPH-1001.bin inside, alongside a BIN File of MediEvil, this its $ony Intellectual Property, so they have the rights for including the Original Title and the BIOS, since is commercial use, unlike when Connectix tried to commercialise the PlayStation BIOS for they're X86 Emulator from $ony after the Crash Bandicoot Demo Meeting in 1998,mind that this was during the PlayStation Era, of course already 20 years has gone by, and placeholder change.

Just a MediEvil Blu-Ray Dump, might be enough to make a Dig on the Emulator used, until then, we aren't sure if is a port or a in-house experimental PlayStation Emulator.

Last time ive heard Parappa The Rapper and Patapon used the PSP Emu as they're solutions, since these are straight polished PSP Titles, if Parapa The Rapper was a PS1 Emulation Port then the Title would lack the FPU Floating Point Unit and the Rendering Precision, which was not implemented until the R3000A Era and the PSP not even a PlayStation Emulator can get the FPU Calculations, is non-existent, so you'll experience the good old texture wrapping, so makes sense, but no need to explain that much.

Yeah, is possible, and not so hard. For example SO3 have patch to change text, and button behavior to omit requirement for force sensitive buttons. Metal Slug Anthology have injected video menu (new shaders, etc.) into standard game options menu. PSP emu is also able to do that easily, all 3 remasters even do that + change in game textures on the fly. So making menu entry that close emu is just few lines of code in lua (if this is sony style emu), and of course on the fly.
