hi im new in this buisness, i bought ps3 console which have CFW 4.91 Cobra (full info image below), i have multiman installed and webman installed.

Problem is that PSX games doesnt work. What i do now:

i have bin + cue game files (1 for each).
cue file has correct signature (image)
i copied them by FTP to PSXISO folder (tried in root and in separate folders)

when i run game from webman i get error INDEX 01 00 00 00
when i run game from multiman it takes me back to XMB

someone on discord suggested that maybe noBD version of console cant run psx games. I have no idea. I tried to reinstall webman and even tried older versions.

noBD CFW can't load any games from discs nor images (ISO, CUE+BIN, etc.).

Those special CFW are meant to bypass broken BD drives or BT modules. They are not meant to be used on an everyday basis.

If your BD drive is broken, you must get a working replacement and remarry it using Evilnat's CFW Tools.

You can follow this tutorial, from min. 14:38: https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=Y4_N902SFqU&t=878s

IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DON'T INSTALL ANY OTHER FW UNTIL YOU FIX YOUR BD DRIVE!!!

You may end up in a boot loop.

yeah getting the drive fixed would be best, but if that isn't a option (due to costs or you just don't want to open it) you could maybe try running ps1 games as ps1 classics, convert them using pop-fe then install them and run them that way.

I'd definitely get that drive fixed. there are a lot of good psx games not even on the playstation store. though, there are some good ones like xenogears for $5 instead of the $200 for the disc version.

guys what if i delete this cobra CFW and install HEN? will it work for bin and iso games on ps1 ps2 and ps3?
DONT DO IT.

Read GuilloteTesla reply from earlier, dont change your firmware at all if you have a broken drive, you might very well end up in a boot loop and stuck, either fix the drive then change firmware or live with a broken drive and stay on the firmware you are on.

What Devildwarf said. Any noBD firmware will brick your console, and it's not like noBD intentionally breaks backwards compatibility, it's just how Sony implemented it. A working Blu-Ray daughterboard is absolutely required to play PS1 and PS2 games.
That said, if you're 100% sure the broken part is the drive itself and not the daughterboard you can install regular CFW (or HEN but that's pointless on a CFW-capable model) and it will play PS1 games, but if you're not 100% sure then better be safe than sorry. A good way of knowing that the daughterboard is fine is if when you insert a disc it initially tries to read (you see the spinning disc icon for a while) and then fails.
