PSX PKG Conversion

I tried using this tutorial...

... to convert PKG files from PSP to PS3 format, in particular the PSX Classics files. But unfortunately, the converted files suffer from horrendous slow down, with the soundtrack being of a lower pitch and slower speed.

Is there a workaround or solution to this problem, or can the source PKG files be played directly on a PS3? I really need help with this.

Of course. It's an easier solution than to basically convert the ISOs to a PBP format.
