PSX-Scene, a way to go back in time

@STLcardsWS Is there anything that can be done this time to bring back online psx-scene.com?

None of the of the site-archiving programs I know can correctly reads threads from it and threads are not well copied by the Wayback Machine either (missing pages). (It seems like some programs tend to click on the buttons for switching the thread layout and that results in a total mess.)
So is there a program suitable for forums of this type?

Not really affiliated with the site anymore, My username still has Admin tag still and i do have some admin abilities on the Vbulltein software (needs to be online) but that is because the site is neglected and there is no one there to do anything,. So i will still help a user out in needs but that is about it with a once in awhile check. Its been over 2 years since i have spoke to anyone who owns or represents the site.

I knew the writing on the wall there 5 years ago..(surprised it has latest this long to be honest) Hopefully it comes back, its needs to be up. Lots of great info,, but it would not be surprising to me either way. I have seen it down many times for many reasons.
That is why we created psx-place the neglect was a huge problem .

The only thing i am good for there at this point is if it comes back up, i can do a few task if someone needs something as i still have my abilities.

Here is a processed version of the PSX-Scene post archive. External resources have been stripped and posts have been merged.
https://archive.org/download/psx-scene-processed-archive/psx-scene-processed-archive-v2.7z

This is also on the Internet Archive as unpacked files. If you have a slow internet connection, it may be easier to download and unpack the above file, then view it locally in your web browser.
(NOTE: this is broken, see here for fixed https://www.psx-place.com/threads/psx-scene-a-way-to-go-back-in-time.20476/page-3#post-367352 )

I can only add that PSX-Scene It is quite good place of knowledge (to read), especially about PS2.
Some stuff (apps, themes, diagrams, etc.) are still out there...
Unfortunately as well there are currently many issues on it (on that site)...

So... there was even an idea to change FMCB logo a bit.

fmcb_logo-psxplace.png

Only url will be add pointing to this site, but unfortunately I cannot get in touch with
Neme or Jimmikaelkael...
Maybe someone else can?
Fear no more! I made new splashes showing psx-place instead of psx-scene

The font for the original old styled logo is nowhere to be found (not even on the files inside the AIO), so I have to improve. Will be nice if @Berion do the edits himself as he haves all the original files.

So, @sp193 you can grab this rar file and update the splash.h on the FMCB code. The splash.h files are inside the rar next to the bmp files: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachme...23386113892286514/fmcb-splashes-psx-place.rar

Jimmikaelkael abandoned the scene long time ago and jumped into gamedev world.

If @sp193 have in plans to release new version, he can use gfx which I gave a long time ago (but I don't remember if this logo fit to current bitmap, if there is any limitations, and if there is no need to any additional changes like psx-place text). If there is will for that, I'm still here. ^^

PS: I have only fonts for my GUIs. The old logo was made by someone else and I never have project files. I have added to PS2 AIO everything which I used.

You brought some gold memories from sksapps site. I think i joined that site in 2007 or something like that.its sad to see ps2 scene sites are going down.

Man, what a total bite in the hide ... Lots a freakin' memories there! :(

Even though there was drama back in the day when PSX-Place first launched and started looking like PSX-SCENE staff were playing "double-agents", the truth even makes it even sadder: even then enough people saw the writing on the wall, and had to race to re-build and re-establish what QJ was neglecting. Since I retired from active development after my mother's death in 2016, I think I logged into SCENE less than a dozen times, and even then it was pretty dead when the site worked. Been lurking here and PS2 Home ever since!

How did you generate those header files? Is there a way to create a bmp and compile it to a header file? Would be very interesting to create own splash screens :)

In 1.8b source there should be a tool for that (if this isn't just a simple hex2txt file). And You can compile it if You know how (not possible without changes on current ps2sdk).

For 1.9xx no source code is available.

If You want hack binaries, You need decompress them first, then replace data and sign for Yours MC magic gate.

No tools or tutorial available for that. ;)
