PS2 Question about Cheat Device & Popstarters

Hi and THX,
I just wanted to ask if you can use Cheat Device (PS2) for Popstarter (PS1) as well or if it is restricted to PS2 games.

I'm using last beta from OPL and don't mind to test around things.
I still own the old Action Replay hardware but don't have a printer/parallel Port anymore and lost the discs to use themso it's more conveniant to use Homebrew instead.

I got lots of different PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 set up for homebrew thanks to this site and this community helped me a lot. Unfortunately I never asked questions because I mostly found answers to my questions by searching and reading all stuff here or at GBAtemp. However I have plenty of free time and hardware laying around to also help testing/contribunting. Hope I'm getting unlocked soon to post at the right places.

You can also use POPStarter with a PS2 cheat device (ps2rd, Codebreaker, Cheat Device PS2…). POPS Mastercode is 902377F4 0C0902EF. PS2 RAW codes of types 0, 1 and 2 are supported. A massive PS1 codes list in PS2 RAW format – ready-to-use – can be found here. In order to use a PS1 code with a PS2 cheat device, you need to convert it to PS2 RAW format : add $01000000 to the PS1 code adresses and comply with the code type definitions of the target PS2 cheat engine.

POPStarter has an embedded cheat engine that supports Gameshark/Action Replay PS1 codes (PS1 RAW codes of types 30, 50, 80 and D0 are supported). Some basic rules about the cheat engine :

• codes will be stored into a txt file named CHEATS.TXT placed into the VMC game folder (each game will have his own dedicated CHEATS.TXT file) ;
• each code line has to start with the $ character otherwise the code is not enabled ;
• each code line must have a space between the adress and the value ;

Merci beaucoup pour ta réponse.
Je me souviens avoir vu ton nom plusieurs fois dans le passé. Tu as bien deviné que je parle aussi français, mais mon français écrit est très mauvais et je dois utiliser des outils pour le rendre lisible.
Ma langue maternelle est le suisse-allemand ou simplement l'allemand.
L'anglais est beaucoup plus facile à écrire pour moi que le français, mais tu peux toujours m'écrire en français par message privé. Je serais ravi de pouvoir aider pour des tests ou d'autres choses et de contribuer à la communauté.

Also you guessed right that I speak french too, but my written french is very bad and and I have to use tools to make it readable. My primary language is Swiss-German or just german.
English is much easier to write for me, but you can still write French to me in PMs and I'm glad if I can help with testing or stuff and give back something back to the community.

I have set up several HDDs, USB-Sticks and EMMC with different file systems, PS-models, Additional Hardware and so on to check possibilities.
Unfortunately I was very busy the last days but I read throght it and will test both methods with different scenarios and I want to dive deeper into omniconvert and mastercodefinder to convert some codes for my friends with PAL region consoles.
I know that there are probably already codes and databases around, but it's for education and understanding to explain my friends how they can convert
proprietary cheats from other devices into RAW to use them freely.
To be honest I don't even play a lot of games and rarely use Cheats, but my friends keep asking and I like the challenge and have more fun if I understand how it works.
