So, I've nearly reached the maximum capacity of this Seagate External GameDrive
The model is a SRDF001 (4TB) Noted on it's original box as being compatible with PS4 / PS4 Pro
my question is in regards to the other models of this GameDrive and whether or not all of them are compatible with all PS4's or possibly not... Because it is very misleading when the 2TB model says "For PS4" and then the 4TB model says "For PS4 / PS4 Pro" as well as the 8TB saying "For PS4 / PS5"
The images below might argue what I am saying but at my local Walmart, these are locked inside of a glass display case along with all of the VR headsets and the PS5 M.2 expansions cards with built in heatsinks.
I originally bought the 4TB model because it was the highest capacity being sold near me and it said that it was compatible with Pro models on the front of the box so that's why I bought it.
With the 2TB model, I could never tell because, well... it's locked in a display case with the front of the box being the only part that I can see and from the imagery below you can see that perhaps it does say "PS4 / PS4 Pro" on the left side of the box but if they can put that on the front side of the 4TB model why not the 2TB model?
The 8TB is also annoying how it simply says "PS4 / PS5" on the front with no actual specifics of what models it has been tested with... if not all of them, how are we as consumers able to tell before buying this crap?
1TB models I don't really bother with being that I could fill one of them in the matter of 1 to 3 months.
So I guess my real question is, has anybody bought the 8TB and used it with a PS4 Pro to know that it does work with Pro models? Also, how am I supposed to tell which make / model of PS4 I have when my Pro model does not have any white sticker with build number on the back like PS3's (Or it is possibly just hidden from my view because the wires are all plugged in and I don't feel much like unplugging all of it)
Could I also find build number from the PS4's box? because I have it's original box from when I first got it. Also can't remember if the first few makes / models of OG PS4's had their model number stickered to the back because I gave it to my brother nearly 7 or 8 years ago so he has my plain white PS4.
