PS3 Question about Jailbreaking

Good evening!

With the rumored news of the PSN being shut down in July, and finding out from a friend of that when the PRAM battery dies it will lock the trophy list and make it so certain games or dlc that you own (regardless of disk or installed on the harddrive), I've decided to look into jailbreaking the PS3 to try and prevent this problem. Now, I am going to get the battery replaced before the servers shut down to hopefully postpone that problem for another seven years or however long the batter lasts.

However, my question is will Homebrew allow me to continue to play my games after the battery dies? Is there a certain application or something I need to circumvent this problem? Please let me know.

Thank you for your time. Sorry if the question is stupid and obvious to some, I'm new to this and before I go through the trouble of jailbreaking I want to see if it would even solve the problem in the first place

I *think* I figured this out?

Based on my day of research, if the battery dies, it will check with the PSN server not the store server for the time, so it *should* be ok even after the store servers are finally killed? It's a preservation issue if PSN gets shut down in the future, not a short term issue of the system becoming useless.

If I'm wrong please let me know, but I *think* this is the answer

i assume that resigning games as free license type would get around this problem, but i have no way to confirm that.
