Hello all.
So my ps3's nec tokina are close to dead. Through ps3toolset website, i confirmes it was 1002 error. The nec tokins on the rsx side are the problem.
Now i plan on buying pre populated tantalizers to solder onto my ps3.
I have no experience on soldering so i have questions, i would like for the kind people in this community to help me.
1. Is the chisel method of removing the old nec tokins good? Also their are 4 silver traces for each nec tokin spot, and a black trace between each pair. Are the black traces able to handle heat of the soldering iron?
2. What temperatures should i use to remove the old solder? With a copper braided desoldering ribbon.
3. What kind of soldering wire should i use?
4. At what temperature should i keep the soldering iron at when i solder the new new tantalizers in.
5. As far as i know i should solder the sides, and the front middle spots of the new tantalizers, should i also solder the back 2 spots of the tantalizers?
6. If i scratch the green holes on the motherboard, will that be a problem?
Thankyou all.
