PS3 Raw access to PS1/PS2 memory cards

Is there any way to get raw access to PS1/PS2 memory cards connected using the official PS3 memory card adapter and homebrew?

the only homebrew i know can do this is u/wlaunchelf running on ps2, idk if the MCA works on BC consoles natively as with PS2 consoles

if you only need to move your saves around, MCA on ps3 can be used to copy data to a virtual memory card if that's what you want
