PS3 Re-activating Rap Licenses

Hi all,

Just a quick question about RAP licenses.

I've backed up my PSN games and have created a RAP file for each of my purchases using this guide.

My questions are:
  1. Are RAP licenses console specific?
  2. How do I install these RAP licenses assuming I've already signed into PSN with the same account I used to purchase all my content?
I would like to avoid using tools such as reActPSN if possible.

Any tips are appreciated, thank you.

1. no, rif files are tied to console/psn+user accounts. rifs are made from raps by the ps3.
2. you don't have to sign in. if using hen or newer cfw, put the rap in dev_hdd0/exdata folder. when you start the game it will activate. after the game reactivates, you can delete the rap from exdata folder.

Don't forget you do need to sign in once on a new console to create the act.dat. Not only do you need to sign in once, but while signed in you need to activate the console for game content via the PSN category.

is it possible to use an act.dat from a different console on a banned console?

the act.dat is tied to your account. there's some info on it on psdevwiki (what all it's tied to). can't use it on another system as it's also tied to the idps.
