Rebug CFW 4.86 Lite gone?

New to the PS3 Mod scene. Running OFW 4.86, I reading Rebug is generally preferred.

I tried to download the Rebug cfw 4.86.1 lite but cant seem to find a working link.

Is it gone?

Just use Ferrox? Is it easy to change later?

probably just run ps1/ps2/ps3/psp backups? maybe some retroarch or something.

Also Webman for fan speed etc

For future reference, this archive contains a lot of old OFWs and CFWs (including Rebug):

You can verify it's the original file by calculating the file's md5 checksum and comparing to the one on rebug.me (checksum inside zip file):

(I assume this archive is allowed, as it's posted as a mirror for rebug toolbox in Brewology, but mods feel free to remove the post if not).

i avoid recommending it because there are a few dangerous pups on that site. (also they hosted rebug files there long before rebug's own site died despite the team's requests not to do so, but that is a moot point now.)

last two ferrox releases had broken ps2 emulation. you install an older pup if needed after enabling qa flag. installing a different pup will NOT delete games, icons, homebrew, etc.

Right, I was afraid to post it because of the latest submissions, which have been removed from PSX-Place (Overflow CFW/db). I didn't know rebug team had requested their CFWs to be taken down (though, since the site is down, I guess it doesn't matter much now). Still a great resource to get missing update files though (especially if you rip with Irisman and want to rebuild with IRD).

i think overflow was removed from here due to some included piracy files in the last version that was posted. (we probably still have older releases somewhere on the forum.)

After some more reading it sounds like REBUG might be gone now.

It better to stick with the 4.86.1 REBUG Lite or Upgrade OFW to 4.88 and do like EvilNat? What is the best/recommended way to go?

How hard it is to change CFW later on?

Evilnat 4.88 includes the latest Cobra. it has fan control (usually webman does that but some people do not use webman). it also can create fake psn accounts offline and activate games/demos with using psnpatch. i recommend Evilnat (especially if you want to play online).

Joonie once said that he knows at least two people who have access to newer 4.8X DEX firmware, but they refused to send it to him.

Is there a guide/walkthrough somewhere? So far I've just got my info through forum posts and youtube vids.

So I would just do to normal official Online PSN update to OFW 4.88?

Then do other steps I read about for jailbreaking CFW 4.88?

there is an online jailbreaking tool called "bgtoolset". i wrote a guide HERE or you can find MrMario2011's youtube video about bgtoolset.
