Recommendations on PS3s

So I posted on a separate thread about me wanting to buy a PS3 CECH-B01 so I can play PS1, PS2, PS3 Games and Blu-rays. I want full backwards compatibility. This system would come with Firmware 2.80.

Aside from this, I also currently possess a modded PS3 that came from Asia. It is a CECH-2506A, running Multiman. It has version 3.5 firmware currently installed. It currently has about 10 games pre-installed. My question is what I should do with it? I have no experience modding PS3s, I have only ever modded my PS Vita with Henkaku. Ideally I would like a system that can play PS1,PS2, and PS3 games natively from Disc as well as being able to play them from ISOs or package files on an external drive or upgrade the internal hdd to ssd and play games from there. Is this asking too much? Advice/Recommendations appreciated.

Advice:

just use a HDD. some SSD eventually start having problems (even if they appear to work okay at first).

update the CFW to Evilnat 4.88.
Do I have to upgrade the system Firmware to the same version to be able install this? Or can it be installed directly over the system firmware as is?

A CFW, as its name says, is a custom, but still system firmware, so install it over your current custom firmware.
