Recommended firmware

Hello,
I got myself a fresh PS3 super slim running firmware 4.82.

I now want to install HEN on it.

Is there a recommended firmware on which everything works the best or should I go straight to 4.89?

I'm asking because I obviously will have no way to downgrade.

Btw Im not planning to connect it to PSN so PSN connectivity is not relevant.

Stay on 4.82 if you don't plan to conect to PSN or play BD movies.

Well there has been a few advancements since 4.82 but nothing special. Only way I would update is to have a more modern update. If you are going online nor care about BD movies there is not any real reason to do so as stated above.

4.89 just NO it have removed account settings if you can install cfw install rebug 4.86 LE or 4.84 REX.
I had 4.84 Rebug REX a lot of time (when I had ps3 slim) it was one of the best firmware. I don't recommend evilant is bugged shit I always had freeze on it. if you want use HEN I think you must find unofficial installers because as I remember only 4.84 still have official installer also you can disable HEN updates.

He has a superslim. ATM only HAN or HEN can be installed on his console for custom gaming.

As atreyu187 said, there is not any reason to update if PSN or BD player will not be used.

I recommend to stay in HEN 4.82. If decide to update, avoid 4.89.

ok ok I understood. You can also use hen without blu ray I had problem with connect blu ray again so I used my superslim without blu ray I never nad problem with enable hen. 4.82 is good firmware but I think 4.86 is the best idea
