PS3 Refresh an installed games PARAM.SFO

I have an official PS1 classic game installed on my PS3, and I want to change one of the properties in the PARAM.SFO file for it.

I've edited the installed games file to the value I want:- in /dev_hdd0/game/NPEE00008/PARAM.SFO

I understand I now need to get the the PS3 to refresh its cached version of the file for the changes to actually apply.

The PS3 dev wiki suggest you can do this by simply launching the game, but that doesn't seem to be working in this case:- https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PARAM.SFO#Replacing_a_PARAM.SFO_manually

I know you can force this to happen by rebuilding the database, but I'd like to avoid doing that if possible because of the data loss it causes.

Is there anything else I can try to force it to reload the file for this game?

As the wiki says the PARAM.SFO usually is refreshed when you launch the game.
If that doesn't work, you could try creating a PKG file (CATEGORY = 1P) that installs only that PARAM.SFO

If you use the python script, the contentType is: 0x06 # PS1 Classic

Thanks for the reply @aldostools

I just by chance tried reinstalling the game using the install bubble PS1 games leave on the XMB, I was expecting this to replace my PARAM.SFO with the original one in the install package - but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's now cached my modified file, with the changes I wanted.
