PS1 and PS2 Emulator Mods

PS3 [Release] PS1 and PS2 Emulator Mods 20\10\2024

What do you mean by that?
I'll try to post some screenshots later to explain it better.

EDIT :

Okay, so :

1) Launch Managunz.

2) Go to the PS2 game you want to apply the widescreen patch to, and press :but tri: to access the game options.

3) Activate the 16/9 option.

4) Then, you can leave Managunz and mount/launch your game via WebmanMod (for example). The 16/9 option will stay on unless you deactivate it through Managunz.

5) Be sure to activate the full screen option, either in the XMB or directly in the emulator's settings (next to the smoothing option).

6) Enjoy

Without the "16/9"Managunz option applied.
Look at the wiiiide character, the doors, the background, etc...

With the "16/9" Managunz option applied.
Note that the menus and other UI elements are still stretched, but otherwise everything is fine

• A 4/3 sample, for comparisons.

A y echenle un vistaso al emulador de ps4 talves logren allar algo

It would be good if someone tried something like this with the PSP emulator, they don't believe it can be possible, it just needs someone to try it

Go ahead and take a look at the PS4 emulator maybe you can find something

Probably not much of a mod and it's probably been discovered already... but you can replace the ps1_rom.bin with any complete PS1 BIOS it seems. Tried this on my CECHC03 with a SCPH-101 BIOS and it works.

Yes, it was something that some of us already knew, but the truth is that it goes very unnoticed.

Yes. You can have the full boot sequence just by replacing that file with a full retail BIOS. You can even load the menu if you unmount the game as seen here.

The interesting thing that is barely brought up is that for the PS2 Emulator you can apparently on GXEmu load the BIOS externally. Using a (patched ?) full retail BIOS would likely load the entire boot sequence as the PS2 BIOS used on the emulator is a stripped down debug build that directly skips to the PS2 logo. And maybe by unmounting the disc, as the similar trick is used to force load the menu on PS1 you can use OSDSYS just like a real PS2.

Now I know why some physical PSX games look better on PS3 than their Store counterparts...

If ps2_gxemu is used for the CECHC/E models and ps2_netemu is used on the Slim and SuperSlim models, what's the ps2_softemu used for?

Thank you.

It wasn't released. Sony has planned to use it on non bc models. After this sony decided resell games as classics (with netemu)

En ps3 super slim pueden lograr grandes ondas con el emulador de ps2 solo es que piensen en como hacerlo

Igual pueden arreglar el emulador de psp es solo que analizen como hacerlo :sonrisa:

On ps3 super slim you can achieve great waves with the ps2 emulator, you just have to think about how to do it

Maybe you can fix the PSP emulator, just analyze how to do it

it is known that both ps2_gxemu and ps2_netemu have better upscaling than ps2_emu. is it possible to bring ps2_emu upscaling as good as the other 2? its the only drawback on cecha cechb when its come to bc games

I would love to see this be implemented.

I've been seeing more games reported playable with configs on the PS2 GXEmu compatibility list, but where can you find them? I recently got myself a CECHC02 model, and am interested in compiling my own configs as well.

Suggestion: Play Scooby Doo First Frights, and the spooky swamp one too i guess
I want to see the distortion gone.
