PS1 and PS2 Emulator Mods

PS3 [Release] PS1 and PS2 Emulator Mods 20\10\2024

it is known that both ps2_gxemu and ps2_netemu have better upscaling than ps2_emu. is it possible to bring ps2_emu upscaling as good as the other 2? its the only drawback on cecha cechb when its come to bc games

Sorry, it's been a while since I last logged in.

How does PS2 BC work when using CFW on a CECHA model, a CECHC model and a CFW compatible Slim model?

Do each use their own branch of PS2 emulation or do they all use ps2_netemu?

Thank you.

cecha(cechb) uses ps2_emu or ps2_netemu, cechc uses ps2_gxemu or ps2_netemu, other use ps2_netemu.

netemu is only used in PS2 Classic packages from the store or if you manually force it in WebMan Mod for example

what if you're using cfw? does cfw offer different emulators per game?

considering what shnyaps said, does cfw allow a single game to be played with ps2_netemu and ps2_emu? do some games only support a single game? cfw only allows one of the two emulators of each console?

thank you

Im not sure if i understand your question, what do you mean with single game?

what decides what sort of emu do they use? is there a game which works with both emus?

thank you
Firmware decides what to use. On cechc by default gxemu will be used. So area 51 will have issue. If you decide to use netemu at least you will see menu

ps2_emu can be used on cecha/cechb only, ps2_gxemu can be used on cechc/ceche only. ps2_netemu can be used everywhere: as classics or by webman mod. Just mount iso with pressed R2. You can't use 4 emuls: bc can use 2 emuls, nonbc only one

thanks for answering!

are there any firmwares that allow the two emulators to be used on the consoles that can use two? so if it doesnt work with one you can check with the other?

if cechc uses gxemu by default, can you revert that to make the other be the "main" emulator?

does the same happen with cecha/b models where one emulator is "chosen" over the other? can this be reverted?

sorry for any inconvenience ^^

In webman mod settings you can set netemu as main emulator on cecha/cechb and cechc/ceche. I prefer to use native emulator. But sometimes netemu is better, in this case I switch emu during mount

The same story is about ps1_emu and ps1_netemu. You can switch by pressed R2 during mounting iso, you can switch default emu, in this case pressed L2 will switch emu during mounting ISO
I assume when people say CECHC consoles have the best PS2 upscalling is by using gxemu, right?

So does this fix graphics issues in Transformers Armada: Prelude to Energon for ps2?

Idk who to ask or where to loo for support, I heard that someone on reddit said it's to do with blending accuracy and that it needs to be set to basic or medium and that my current blending accuracy is on minimal for the game. How can I fix this so the special effects etc are no longer invisible?

Is it possible to get any of the graphics enhancements on the ps2_emu.self? These features on just emulation kinda sucks (not being able to use).

Hello, is it possible to implement rsx overclock inside the emu? I just found out during qCFW testing on my superslim that booting ps2 emu will reboot the whole console. This causes rsx clock to reset to default value. This mean for now only way to overclock is to use old custom pup method.

Thanks

PS2 emu is a whole other LV2 kernel. None of the PS3 features are available when running ps2 games. If the clock speeds aren't hardcoded on the emu itself (or possibly the syscon, not gonna touch on that since i'm not an expert) it's not possible

RSX clock can be set in real time through lv1 poke
