PS1 and PS2 Emulator Mods

PS3 [Release] PS1 and PS2 Emulator Mods 20\10\2024

Maybe, I can upload a Softemu mod with a PAL bios for you to try 576p with
https://www.psx-place.com/resources/lbfn-with-updated-libcdvd.971/
it has various video modes like VGA, VESA as well as a nice bilinear filter to sharpen the text.
I have no way of testing it myself though, since i'm on a later CFW.

If we can dump the DEX keystore mechacon-keystore.bin of Netemu we might be able to trigger some update.

In Softemu the DVDPlayer update is blocked but FMCB still works, you can reactivate the DVDPlayer update by redirecting the missing ROM1 paths to the memory card update, it's a small fix if someone wants to update osdmenu.

Hacking the mechacon also is suppposed to reactivate iLink & host, I think an earlier Softemu build had network support for debugging, idk.
All i've done atm is edit the SCPH name string in the nvm file.

I'm on the latest custom firmware also.

I think it's just the emulator itself because it won't fill the whole screen

Yep the PS3 is flakey, for instance Netemu doesn't support higher than 480p because the Mechacon is forced to RGB instead of Component with v6.12 whilst Softemu uses v6.02 or v5.04? an can output 1080i, PAL bios supports 576p NTSC doesn't.

There are a handful of later ps1 3d titles that supported widescreen, like TOCA.
I think it must of became a more popular addition after dual shock was added to platinum re-releases.

The ps1 ps3 emulator uses the modified psp bios.
on this note, even some 2d games had widescreen support,

Worms World Party did for example
