Ultimate Toolbox

PS3 [RELEASE] ★ Ultimate Toolbox v2.03 - It Only Does Everything! v2.03 (FW 4.84 - 4.91)

@DeViL303 I have been using the File Manager and found that there is a limit of 8 levels of directories that can be opened in XMB.
To alleviate this limitation I made a small change to File_Manager.xml to add at least one additional directory level in hdd0.

The change is that instead of have Internal Hard Drive > then list hdd0 and hdd1,
Now we have Internal Hard Drive 0 and 1 that open directly. I know it is not much but one more helps.

I also included the modified category_users.xml with the icon that Turn Off System without confirmation.

Another possible mod that could be included is the Ultimate Toolbox is a toggler for xmb_plugin.sprx that show/hide the IP address swapping the cex & dex versions. The file works in 4.84, 4.85, 4.86 and 4.87 so it's partially firmware dependent.

Nice one.

It does help. I guess if there was some deep folder that we needed to get to, we could we could add it on the top level too.

Cheers, I have added this to the menu already as an option.

Great idea. I can actually add a few different versions.
  • Standard CEX
  • Standard DEX
  • One with just the IP address and "connected from", no "hostname"
  • One with just IP address , no connected from, no hostname.

I have a good few upgrades done and working for v1.02 so far.
  • Power options toggler now has "reboot options" which is like your xml.
  • Added force canyon presets menu with 60 options
  • Added force wave presets menu with 33 options
  • Added PS2 Netemu toggler with 8 options.
  • Added XMB icons style toggler with 12 options (icons.qrc)
  • Now over 100 fonts available in font installer, 80 new ones added with new jpg icons.
  • Impose mod (DECR 0.90 ps3 image) toggler
  • All icons optimized. All the visualization mods now using jpg icons @ 240x240. There was some 486x405 pngs left in here taken from ps3EXTRA ISOs. Shaved a few MB off.
  • All mods names standardized to make things more consistent, Now named 1.*** to xx.*** with matching icons named 1.jpg to xx.jpg (lines/earth/canyon/icons/fonts/ac3s)
  • Bugs from 1.01 fixed , missing amiga boot sound icon, ofw coldboot swapped with rebug.
Still a bit more to do before release but it's getting there. Starting to look at the debug payload swapper now.

We only will need a coolboot with PS5 logo.... LOL

This changelog is really amazing... I'm very impressed with what you have done so far in 1.01.

@DeViL303

You can also add HEN support by using remaps =)

I'm using

game_ext_plugin to enable gameboot sounds
xmb_plugin.sprx to show the ipadress in the XMB, the official dex one works, but if you edit it like me, it needs to be remapped
explore_plugin.sprx to show custom What's new/ps store itens
custom_render.sprx for music visualization presets.

wboard_plugin.sprx i can't make it work, i patched it to remove the what's new background, but the remap will make the system hangs after a reload.

Thanks. I will take a look at your stuff when you release it. A lot of that I recognize from my previous mods like CFW Toolbox, XMBPD, plugin manager etc. TBH I have no interest in supporting HEN anymore. Also not interesting in including loads of rco mods, they all conflict with each other. You change an rco for an icon change, and it also removes another patch you wanted applied etc, too much hassle.

P.S. can you make all those screenshots into thumbnails or attachment as fullscreen images makes this release thread hard to browse

Yeap, the multiple patch rcos are a headache, i needed to make tons of rcos, with one feature disabled or so, and kinda of system to make it work, 1 rco mod results in 100 rcos to work disabling/enabling other features,

I'll make them thumbnails as soons as posible.

Also @LuanTeles, You are linking to loads of stuff on my web server and then asking for donations when I am the one paying hundreds of euro for that server. Kind of cheeky don't you think? Do you have any costs to cover?

Actually, the only links of your server are the ones of your XMBPD screensavers, that are linked to show in the ''online wallpapers'' category.

Yeap, actually in the internal version it has a "What's new widget" with the title, "if you like my work please consider making a small donation."

But in the release version, i'll remove it, i'll soon post it here. ( also i need to cut some content, since it is not allowed here, and i added by requests for my telegram group)

To be honest not that much, i just have a premium account on dropbox where the files are storaged.

Well I am looking at PS3 pro mod 5.1 and its full of links to all my pkgs, themes, backgrounds etc, I already PMd you before about trying to monetize the stuff I share here for free and how I do not like it. I really do not care if it's your "internal version" or not.

You have also tried to monetize it by putting tonnes of ads and popups on your download links too.

A lot of your toolbox is just my toolbox with the content ID changed to PROTOOLBX.

Some examples:

We know the feeling well.
A few people reported to me some attempts to monetize slightly modded versions of HEN.
I won't even bother commenting on this as it's not the first time that ps3xploit stuff is used by others to get donations for no work or very little in comparison, it was already happening with previous ps3xploit tools.
All I will say is this:
With stunts like this, don't be surprised if one day, devs no longer release any source code, ever...

@DeViL303 @aldostools

I finally got the failsafe idea working.
Well kind of, there is still a bump in the road. ;-)
The /dev_flash partition gets mounted as writable by stage0, a temporary file gets created before loading stage2 and deleted only after successful stage2 loading, finally the partition is unmounted for cleanup purposes.
All that stuff works great & stage2 loads successfully.
On next boot, when the temporary file is detected (last stage2 loading failed), stage2 is renamed (=disabled).

There is only one minor obstacle left for now. lv2gen which inserts the stage0 payload inside lv2_kernel.self needs modded to allow for a little more space for stage0, right now because of the newly added code, stage0 is too big to fit in what is seemingly reserved for it, it seems to overwrite a few kernel subs leading to a crash later in the boot process.

I have never worked on lv2gen before, I have used for compilation but never modded it or really looked at its internals.
I assume this payload size is a minor problem that can be solved with few changes, I hope I am not wrong about that..
That's great news. Nice one. That sounds like a good solution. It reminds me of the way the system logs improper shutdowns using the flag "turnoff" and "turnoff.bak"

Yeah, Unfortunately I can not hide my xml stuff so easy. :)

The only solution I can think of for now is to change the locations on the web server of all the resources with every release of Ultimate Toolbox. So basically users will need to always be on the latest version for resource downloads to work as this will break previous versions. On the bright side its an incentive for people to keep Ultimate Toolbox updated. It will be a cat and mouse game.

Oh, yeap you are right

It is just a modded HENTOOLBX as i always state in changelogs, and always mention you in the credits =)

even inside the mod

KLo2VnV.png
F3ORMUa.png

(i'm missing aldo)

But do not worry :biggrin::biggrin: the donation option has been removed =), ( the one that has it, it not even online)

anyways

i'm was planing to send you before the release to see what is allowed or not, and things that i can improve

I don't think you need to patch any sprx to remove the what's new background, i removed it by modifying cinfo-bgsd-whatsnew.jpg and cinfo-bg-whatsnew.jpg :

screenshot_2021_01_18_17_25_46.png

I don't know how but the original jpg files are showing correctly but my custom ones are invisibles.
I attached a zip file to this post containing the custom pictures if you want to test them

I moved Cobra posts to a new "Messing with Cobra" thread in the Developer lounge. That process is always a little messy because some posts are mixing up up 2 topics. You know the drill.
Post #60 in this thread for instance would need split into 2 in order to move only the appropriate part & there are various other posts like this.
