Ultimate Toolbox

PS3 [RELEASE] ★ Ultimate Toolbox v2.03 - It Only Does Everything! v2.03 (FW 4.84 - 4.91)

Hmm, I understand. It makes sense then why you did what you did. I figured it was a spinning icon because it defaulted to it due to the lack of an icon for un-openable files from within the File explorer. So I had it all wrong. I see why you went with the simple solutions as @DeViL303 wants the toolbox to work without having to patch things for different FW.

I hadn't tested it with the white circle but I can see it being ok, kind of like a bullet point to mark a file.

It is not perfect, but it doesn't look bad. Indeed it looks very good when you browse the ISO folders. For other files it looks acceptable.

I would prefer a smaller circle, but I couldn't find a better GIM image.

It also looks acceptable when loading the other icons on XMB, but we lose the rotating icon effect.

I'm currently using that mod and I'm happy with it so far.

Try this one. Same idea but I used an empty circle.

The advantage is we still get to see the folder icon underneath when on the top level, but also it looks more like the original loading icon and does not stick out so much when it appears in other places when icons are loading.

Wouldn't it be possible to make the circle smaller by transforming the circle itself to a smaller size but maintaining the canvas size? I like that empty circle image a bit more but it still seems quite large. Also I'm guessing if you make the circle smaller then it will no longer encompass the folders like in the first image. Are they two separate images? Either way you guys are awesome and thanks for taking time out of your days for these things. I'm just being nitpicky, w/e you decide on I will use.

I started to look at .gim conversions to see if I could make something for use but it seems that it's a bit more than just a simple image conversion, more steps. Also I know nothing about .rco, .sprx editing so I don't wanna F%$# up my PS3 lol I cant recover from a hard brick.

I'm pretty sure @DeViL303 told me the worst that can happen is a soft brick but seeing as I don't own ps3 controller I'd be stuck trying to recover, maybe.

Yeah it could be smaller alright on transparent background, but like you say it would cover the folder icon then as they are separate images, also the smaller you go the more rough the edges so the more chance of seeing it rotating.

It's an option though.

For gim conversion you can get away with this command for most rcos. Just put your images inside the rcomage/gimcov folder next to the gimconv.exe and use this command from cmd.

Code:
gimconv.exe myimage.png -o myimage.gim --format_style psp --format_endian big --image_format dxt5

More info: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/adding-rco-image-files.2867/

As far as I know there is nothing you can mod on dev_flash that can cause a hard brick (exept the Cobra payload)

I have even deleted everything in dev_flash and rebooted before as a test, and it was only a soft brick. :)

For anyone on HEN who might be interested in using this. I made myself a 4.87 DB HFW PUP so I could test HEN stuff quickly and easily, Everything seems to work fine. There is very little included so far that could be considered CFW specific except maybe the included download plugin and the cobra payload swapper.

So if you are reading this, and on HEN I can say it is worth trying and you will have no major issues.

The latest HEN installer pkg does seem to leave this query out of the category_game.xml which is a shame, you can add it back yourself if you want by adding this in with the other queries.
Code:
<Query
class="type:x-xmb/folder-pixmap"
key="game_xmbm_hdd0"
src="xmb://localhost/dev_hdd0/game/XMBMANPLS/USRDIR/game_main.xml#seg_xmb_hdd0_app"
/>

OR here is an xml attached that will work on 4.87 HFW/HEN. Just replace the one in dev_blind/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/ with the attached file.

That's interesting, maybe you can, worth a try.

I kind of doubt it will work though due to the nulls. You would need to put "m.s.g._.i.p.a.d.d.r.e.s.s" and my guess is it will just display like that.

It would be interesting to see if that trick works with "Unlink" and "Unlink (folder)" too.

I'm sure it was Unlink (Folder) before , now mine shows Delete and Delete (Folder)

So it was a lucky patch on the Clear Cache one

@aldops3 what is the command to apply a p3t file after download? i remember you saying it but i couldn't find where

From @aldostools page 6 of this thread:

3- Installing Themes only download the theme. webMAN can download & install the theme using /install.ps3?<url>
Maybe you could give the option to use webMAN for certain operations.

I think that's what you're referring to.

Hmmm. it does not work with my dropbox link as a test neither with Devil's one

/install.ps3?http://devil303.com/Themes/files.php?file=007.p3t

Invalid URL

this command is meant to install from hdd0

I tried http://192.168.0.19/install.ps3?url=http://devil303.com/Themes/files.php?file=007.p3t

it worked, but placed the theme on /packages folder and did not apply, since the command is for PKGs only.

When you say install I assume you mean "apply" the theme? Cos simply putting themes into the dev_hdd0/theme/ folder is enough to "install" them so they show up on the menu.

/install.ps3/dev_hdd0/theme.p3t will install a theme

I don't remember if you can downlad & install. Try using /install.ps3?http://url/theme.ps3

Or maybe: /download.ps3?http://url/theme.ps3;/install.ps3/dev_hdd0/theme.p3t

None worked, invalid URL

I got it working using

install.ps3?url=http://devil303.com/Themes/files.ph...007.p3t;/delete_ps3/dev_hdd0/packages/007.pt3

can a new command be added? it downloads the theme to theme folder and applies it?

because the method i got working, need to download to packages folder, install the pt3 theme and then delete it in the package folder, so it will not populate the folder.
