Ultimate Toolbox

PS3 [RELEASE] ★ Ultimate Toolbox v2.03 - It Only Does Everything! v2.03 (FW 4.84 - 4.91)

It's not in the Toolbox. It's a tricky mod that requires the lines.qrc and custom_render_plugin.rco patched extensively. I ended up overwriting the files and never got around to recreating it. I think @LuanTeles might have recreated it, not sure.

I couldn't find this
inside your Ultimate Toolbox 2.0.1, where can i apply it?

Yeap, I recreated it using @DeViL303 instructions, i'll just check the last animation that seems to not match Devil's one and post here.

install the Toolbox and I can no longer see the stores that I have installed. I install the fix for hen from the stores and I can't see the toolbox ... what do I do?

first, read our rules. we don't support any "store" except official sony splaystation store.

after that, decide which one you really want, toolbox or pirate tool...

toolbox. I am not talking about pirate stores, only that when I install tooldox v2.01 the stores are accumulated and I don't know how I can make everything look like

are you talking about "HENbrew store"? i think it is no longer updated.

Hey DeViL,
Couple things.

First off, I'm on Evilnat 4.88.

Whenever I install Ultimate Toolbox 2.01, it changes App_Home's name to PlayStation®3.

Also, when I install red icons under Visual Customization -> PSN Icons Color -> Red Icons, Create New User is renamed to "UALSHOCK™3 Wireless Controller". What's interesting is that this only happens under English (United Kingdom) locale. I dumped the explore_plugin_full.rco file the tool copies & searched for the text but I found...absolutely nothing. I'll experiment more on this & write back/edit.

The App_Home error I'm sure is just a simple error you made in your explore_category_game.rco file, which is easily rectified, although it is slightly annoying that I'll have to fix it whenever I want to update the toolbox shall it update.

If you'd like, I can try to fix the explore_plugin_file.rco and attach it here, but I'm not 100% sure what I have in mind will work. Will give it a go now.

That is meant to be that way. I changed it because lots of people were removing app home saying it looked ugly.

This is probably due to a mistake when adding support for 4.88. I think I will remove those options in the next update along with the sorting options, The issue is it requires editing 160 language files each time any text entry changes, its too much hassle tbh. When I was initially adding those options and the explore_plugin_full.rco had not changed for like 10 years so it seemed like a good idea.

Anyway if you update from the Toolbox Setup > About > Update, then reinstall the plugin from Toolbox Setup > Reinstall plugin it will fix this issue for now.

Ultimate Toolbox 2.03 available for download HERE. Nothing really added, just removed some stuff so it's easier to maintain going forward, now it supports newer CFW fully and wont have issues with missing icons or text entries.
  • Removed all explore_plugin_full.rco mods (Game sorting options, PSN icon color changing options)
  • Removed language selection options
  • Base (lite) version no longer available
  • Removed option to update it from within the toolbox.
If its currently working correctly for you, there is no need to update.

It's a shame when we lose useful features like game sorting, the non-rotating icon in XMB File Explorer, the renamed app_home/PS3_GAME, etc. when it can be solved replacing category_network.xml with static text and icons (english only).

I understand that it is a lot of work to fix the explore_plugin_full.rco mods to support 4.88.2
But in the other hand, the mods were already done and they are very useful. The solution is not too hard.

I hope these features could come back in a future release.

I understand and I really do not like removing stuff either, but I rather be on my own schedule for releasing updates, and even better just have it be completely FW independent like v2.03. This situation where it breaks every time a new CFW releases really does not suit me.

Also supporting 4.88.1 and 4.88.2 is not possible with one release. It just gets too complicated.

On top of that, The more languages that get added to Evilnats CFW Tools, the harder it becomes to edit the language files without making a mistake. Trying to figure out what text entries are new and then adding them is really just too time consuming. You are right I could have released an english only category_network.xml, but that will just create loads of "I installed UTB and now some options vanished" complaints, Or "I installed UTB and now CFW tools is all English, how do I fix it" complaints. Each version of the FW would require its own category_network.xml, too much hassle for me tbh.

In my opinion, the simplest solution would be 2.01 plus one option to patch category_network.xml with static icons and static text. That way all non-4.88.2 users keep the features, and the 4.88.2 would get a fix for the missing icons. You could fix it with the xai_plugin + category_network.xml from the latest pkg. Also include another option with the cobra 8.3 updates for all CFW.

If a new FW version is released, the user just need to re-apply xai_plugin + category_network.xml or only 2 files would need to be updated.

That would just make it FW dependent again. the category_network.xml is tied to a specific Cobra version and a specific xai_plugin.sprx version. So all 3 of those need to be updated at once, Also I really want to avoid including Cobra Payloads in anything as that can lead to full bricks if people install the wrong one.

Understood. It's a shame that the users that don't know how to mod will lose these features.

I fixed the explore_plugin_full.rco for Rebug icons by the way. Attached.

Cheers, it was already fixed in 2.02., but anyway those rcos will be no good for 4.88.2 so I feel its for the best these options are removed.
