Ultimate Toolbox

PS3 [RELEASE] ★ Ultimate Toolbox v2.03 - It Only Does Everything! v2.03 (FW 4.84 - 4.91)

Hi, I am curious if this is being planned on being updated and released for 4.89+ (specifically 4.90). I feel like I read in some other thread on this site that this was going to be avoided for 4.89 CFW as there was some assumptions that some things would be fixed with 4.90 release (such as the Remote Play bugs / mis-compilations being fixed).

I also recall reading that it was going to be a major undertaking to fix all the RCO's included so maybe this will never be rebuilt to support these later CFWs. I wish I could find the thread I was reading the other day so I could see if this was already posted somewhere else....

Many of the features in Ultimate Toolbox work fine on 4.90, except the impose mods that shows the animation correctly but the battery information in a wrong place. The sprx in multi-gameboot mod was fixed for 4.89-4.90 but not included yet.

If you're looking for webMAN related mods by DeViL303, you can find them in:
https://github.com/aldostools/Resources/releases/tag/XMB_Randomizers

DeViL303 expressed his lack of interest of deal with multiple versions. Anyway Evilnat CFW 4.90 includes many of the mods from Ultimate Tools. The others could be extracted and installed manually from the package.

Hehehe it would be awesome... but it requires a large amount of work similar to what DeViL303 already did.

It can be hard to find someone with the required knowledge willing to do the titanic job needed to create these collections :D

I can release it later, me and devil shared our mods with each other. it's easy as I'm already using the PS3_EXTRA structure and my preview images are the same size as it too.

But soon I'll release an updated version of my pro mod with more than 10K rco mods.

It would be great if you could split your package in small modules or "themes" (I don't mean p3t).

I would prefer to install a package of about 50MB or less instead of a large one with thousands of files that I won't use.

I though of it in my pro mode to use "modules" as Devil uses, but the problem is some rco mods are in the same RCO

Eg: system_plugin

I use it for the following mods

- Clock Icon
- System Sounds
- System Bottons
- Impose Screen

So when a clock mod is applied, the same clock style rcos are copied to the system sounds category, so the user choose a system sound all the rcos with that sound are copied to the system buttons animations, then the user chooser a style and all the rcos matching all of this are copied to the impose screen,

I made this way to keep each personalization consistent and mixable with other.

Almost everything here i made this way

Like wave. the user chooses one and then goes to particle effect customization, when one is selected it will be based on the choice of the previous wave and if choosing another wave it will apply the wave with the particle effect that was chosen before.

The same goes with boot logos, boot sounds , gameboot , background music that also needs to be compatible with combinations.

This is my current folder with the customizations, excluding the shared folder that I talked to you about last week, which has the customizations that need to be installed with each variant change or installation without having to reinstall the pkg.

The entire thing follows this way, like XMLS/icons that changes depending of the user choices, if it is running cobra/mamba/hen/dex/cex/ payload variant and etc.

I recommend that create small "themes" that install specific combinations of mods / rco that you consider people would like. Or create modules por specific purposes and include the common files needed.

Maybe something like this https://github.com/aldostools/Resources/releases/tag/XMB_Randomizers
These packages are mods from Ultimate Toolbox for use with webMAN MOD.

I'd prefer to select the package that I like, instead of download and install thousands of junk files that never will be used.

I'll make three variants, Full, Lite and Modular (with your suggestions).

In the end I got excited and upgraded to 4.90, the toolbox continues to work, at least what I've tried, which is the visual changes part, the only problem I found is in the "impose_plugin.rco" files, which are not show correctly, does anyone know how these files can be adapted to 4.90

Yes, many options still work great but others cause issues in with 4.89 / 4.90 and most of the users won't know how to fix them.

The mayor issues are in the mods for impose_plugin. There is not a fix yet.

The multi gameboot mod installs an older version of the patched game_ext_plugin.sprx. It breaks the layout of game update or view history. In the thread of that mod I posted a fix for 4.90

Other bugs are found in the sort mod, that replace explore_plugin_full.rco. That rco is heavily modified in Evilnat CFW.

HEN and Cobra sections in toolbox are outdated.

Thanks for answering, it annoys me a bit that it doesn't work well, I even tried to change it by ftp without success, I can't update the xai plugin either, it gives error 404, if there is no solution I will download to 4.88, everything works fine for me there, hahaha, I like that the controller screen is different

I would like to get back to this someday, but it was soo much work for me the first time to create and test, and I don't have that much free time now.

Honestly I think it would be better if someone who could mod xai took it over.. many things I had to do in a complex inefficient way as I only had the ability to copy OR move. Also many options should really have a check in place to avoid potential bugs.

Also it could probably be trimmed down a little, some of the stuff was cool as proof of concept, and to showcase all the stuff that is possible from the XMB, but probably never really gets used, idk.

I can imagine the hard work it cost you to do it, I know it's a lot to ask, but can you at least say how you adapt the "impose rco" files, it would be the only thing missing to have the ps3 customized to my liking

Hi, I have an issue with the multi-gameboot mod since the CFW 4.89 and 4.90.
The boot animations of PS1 and PS2 games work fine but not the PS3 games, the game launchs directly.

I removed the multi-gameboot mod and installed the fixed one but after reboot I still have the same problem.

Should I leave dev_blind permanently activated ?

Thank you DeViL303 for your tools, it's awesome ! My PS3 interface is way better than before. :)

Really Ultimate Toolbox does not support 4.89 or 4.90 as RCO and layouts have changed, but a lot of the stuff will work ok.

You can yes, its really not that important to disable it in my opinion. I always have it enabled.

Ok, thank you for your answer. :)
But it is normal that even with the fixed mod I don't have the animation when I launch PS3 games?
Except for that and the impose mods, everything works well.
