Requesting help on updating PHAT PS3

Hello everyone, I'm extremely new to the modding world and I can't get online at all for some reason. My current Rebug version is 4.84 and I believe I use DEX (I can switch from CEX to DEX apparently) and my toolbox version is 02.03.04. I've been trying for a while now and I still can't seem to find any solution or help even from YT. (Maybe 7 months since I've been looking)

My problem is that I thought that my console was banned so I put a new PSID & CID but after I set boot those two, it was saying I needed to update my ps3. I looked into it and I updated from 4.82 to 4.84 but that's where everything became a problem. It said my PSID and CID was banned even though I got it recently and when I tried using another one, I was still banned!

Right now, I'm trying to go online using 4.84 again but when I use SEN Enabler, it says my firmware is not supported and when I try to update to 4.86.1, it keeps telling me "Update data of version 2.45 or later can be installed on this system" and the error code is 8002F969. I also tried to go on rebug.me but it keeps showing DNS errors so I don't know where to install anything now. I recently formatted my USB to try and use this 4.87 thing but apparently it needs a password to open it and surveys don't work for me.

remove the firmware spoof that sen enabler applied. then you can update i think
 
I know some people have managed to update with a spoof applied, but it's not recommended. it can cause issues, so most people suggest disabling it if you're going to change firmwares.

It sounds like you have converted to DEX, and are now trying to install Rebug 4.86.1 CEX. This will not work, you need to convert back to CEX first in Rebug Toolbox. Then you can update CFW.

The reason it's saying 2.45 or later is because you are on DEX. TBH updating 4.86.1 will not help you go online as it's not the latest FW. After converting to CEX, you could then update to 4.87.3 Evilnat CFW. This will allow you to go online without any spoofs if your IDPS is not banned.

As for your IDPS, you probably got ripped off if you bought a new one. Most sellers resell the same IDPS to multiple people and they all end up getting banned again quickly.

The version you bring me to leads me to 4.87.2 can I still use that? Also, I see I can update the ps3 via Internet to 4.87. Should I click on that after I plus my usb in so that I can go back online and use my mods?

Ah yes, that was a typo. I meant to write 4.87.2, its the latest version.

Once on CFW you really never need to go back to official firmware for any reason. Like Coro says, Updating via internet update will cause you to lose your jailbreak.

Thank you. I was able to update it to 4.87 now via USB. My only problem (I hope) is that I can't change my PSID/CID because I need to install a different version of CCAPI and I can't seem to find it (It keeps bringing me to sites where I need to do a survey or something to unlock it which doesn't unlock anyways and sites with CFW/HEN versions. If I can also use CFW, that would be great and I would give it a try). Also, is there a REX edition I can install somewhere? Also, do I need to use SEN Enabler or not anymore since I don't need to spoof my ps3.

newest CCAPI here

lots of homebrew on that site. this link lists the apps with the newest ones first. there are 4 links (at top of each page) that also have homebrew games, emulators, and dev stuff.
 
:sem imsorry::sco hmmthink::sfun loco::sfun oldguy: if you installing ofw 4.87 you have to jail break again if not use psn patch and disable cfw no need to spoof if it's not banned or in the case you are worried then spoof idps these suggestions never garrentee you will not get banned. That said you should be fine no need for sen enabler if you are on cfw 4.87 of choice.:D

I installed that version but I got this message when I tried to connect it from my laptop to my ps3. Did I do something wrong?

Ok, I was able to install it but now I just need to know where can I download games and stuff. By any chance do you know? I a;ready checked on YT but it's all not recent and the links bring me to some survey site. If not, that's okay. I'll just keep on looking or asking around.

you can get your games, dlc, and all that right here. the FIRST TWO are the biggest ones.

since your problems is solved im gonna close the thread.
