PS3 Resigning a CEX EBOOT to a DEX / DEBUG EBOOT

Forum Noob
I have a DEX compatible PS3, utilizing Evilnat CFW, and multiman. I have successfully created a debug eboot for MotorStorm following some tutorials online and have been able to utilize ProDG Target Manager and Debugger along with Net Cheat to start digging. I mount the game in multiman, and then launch from disc icon in PS3 XMB.

MY PROBLEM:
I want to debug NCAA Football 14. I have attempted to resign the original disc EBOOT.BIN without updating past V1.00 of the game and utilizing TrueAncestor SELF resigner V1.96 (see the different combinations below that I have attempted).

I have also attempted updating to V1.02 of the game and tried resigning the patch EBOOT in all of these combinations as well. Every time, no matter how I resign the EBOOT when I launch the game either in /app_home or from disc icon the game freezes after selecting one of them from the PS3 XMB during init.

What am I doing wrong? Is it an EA licensing issue that keeps hanging it up? I know there have been EA Skate 3 mods out there so I assume there must be a way to resign this EBOOT for debugging.

I have seen already the tutorial written by the member GuilloteTesla at the below link and I have followed that but it is not working for NCAA, but works just fine for MotorStorm.

Combinations I've attempted to resign the EBOOT:
-CEX option 1 to decrypt then DEX option 10 to resign
-CEX option 1 to decrypt then DEX option 11 to resign
-DEX option 10
-Dex option 11
-CEX option 1 then cmd line prompt utilizing the make_fself.exe within trueancestor resigner

Where are you getting your EBOOT.BIN file from?. It's important to use the correct EBOOT.BIN for the game (a minor update will use the "/dev_hdd0/game" path).

Some information on the steps that you've taken, logs or screencaptures would be useful.

The current version of the game is V1.00 there is only 1 EBOOT present in the /dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLUS3159 NCAA Football/PS3 game/USRDIR. There is no patch file eboot present in the /dev_hdd0/game folder

When I've tried updated to V1.02 I have been using the patch EBOOT located in the dev_hdd0/game filepath.

With my current set up with V1.00 I connect via ProDG target manager direct from PS3 to PC and use the file explorer to transfer the disc EBOOT from GAMES folder to my PC. I then have tried a multitude of ways to decrypt and resign via TrueAncestor V1.96. I do not hve any logs or screenshots currently but I could get those if you specific what you'd like to see. After the EBOOT resigns I then use the target manger file explorer to transfer the new "debug" EBOOT back to PS3. I do all of this in DEX mode. I then will go to multiman, mount the game, then launch via disc icon on XMB. I had BD mirror turned on, and Internal on and direct boot turned off.

once I select the disc icon on XMB the screen goes black and then the kernel basically says sleep on the init. When I get a chance I can take some screenshots of that. Will be later though, maybe you hve some thoughts already?

Converted to DEX connected via Target manager
Used target manager file explorer as an FTP client to transfer EBOOT.BIN from GAMES filepath (disc EBOOT)
Utilized TrueAncestor V1.96 and selected option 10 Deleted old EBOOT on PS3
Transferred new DEX eboot to PS3 using target manager file explorer
Restarted PS3
Reconnected target manager mounted game from multiman (game settings selected: Internal, BD Mirror)
Launched game from disc icon on main PS3 XMB

A dark black screen pops up with no backlighting, then a lighter but still black screen with back lighting, it flashes from dark black to light black twice then stops and freezes
I pressed play in Kernel Explorer in target manager and nothing happens
The debugger attaches to the process, I select continue without symbols and nothing really happens

Attached is TrueAncestor V1.96 option 10

I then repeated the same thing for utilizing option 11 in TrueAncestor and this time I got a PS3 error code (80010009)

Attaching the debugger will not give you any hints if the EBOOT has been properly converted. A debug EBOOT must run in DEX mode as a retail EBOOT.

The black screen clearly states that your EBOOT becomes corrupted during the patching, encrypting process, or during the transfer (in my case, I always use WebMAN MOD's FTP client for file transfer).

Also, try using the proper game disc instead of mounting an ISO. Mounting an image adds more variables to the problem.
